Correct me if I'm mistaken, but do I sense racism against Muslims here? I hope you don't mean you're raising your kids to be racists, when you say you're raising them "not to hate". We'd have another Holocaust, this time against Muslims, if there were more people are such as yourself. You're certainly one to talk about not-hating. Bodrul was simply stating things that anyone against US policy would say. Learning not to hate means also learning not to be a freaking racist, geez.

If you look back throughout history, I think you'll notice that Christianity has claimed far more lives than any other religion will ever come close to for years and years to come. May I say, inquisition, conquests of the Americas, crusades..

I also say I do not really care for either the US or Israel. If they choose to bring war upon themselves in amounts they can't take, I say you reap what you sow, and hopefully any intelligent people would have moved out danger (including wholly out of war-mongering Israel).

Pardon? Where did you read any statements I made about Muslims? Isnt it RACIST of you to assume that I speak of all Muslims when I speak of Iran? Please pay attntion to what you say, as not to make yourself look like a fool.

There isnt a racist bone in my body, and for you to assume people are talking about entire religions when they talk about the few is racist by definition. I have a mixed race family and a mixed race child. Dont tell me about racism, especially when you make comments that imply your racism through your assumtions.

Someone, anyone, please feel free to correct me if I'm seeing this wrong, but.....
Since when, did adherence to the Muslim faith induce establishment of a racial marker? As far as I know, only the Jewish people are one in the same with their race & religion, and even then there are many divisions of Judaism, not to mention Christianity. How can one claim "racism" based on a philosophical or religious belief?

They're not either, Jews can be European, Middle Eastern, or African in terms of ethnic background. I grew up hanging out with a bunch of blond-haired, blue eyed jews, the idea that jews have a readily identifiable ethnic similarity is bogus.

Race is itself mostly a myth, period, but that's going way beyond the topic of this thread.

As for the other stuff, racism and bigotry tend to be treated as synonyms, and they're not. Racism is a specific kind of bigotry, but not all bigotry is racism. IE if you hate Muslims, you're a bigot, but not necessarily a racist, as Muslims are a religious and not a "racial" group.

I think that idea came about by the fact that Judaism is determined matrilineally (is that a word? from the mother). So, technically, even though in more recent years some have allowed "conversions" or it to be passed down from the father in the case of an interfaith marriage, they aren't, in the strictest possible way, Jewish.

You can, of course end up with a wide variety of appearances genetically speaking, dark skin, light skin, dark hair, light hair, etc. but all should be able to trace their heritage through their mother back to the original tribes of Israel.

At least as I understand it.

This is actually quite true, and has always been so. Progressive Judaism has been open to converts for at least 1900 years (Proselytes), but according to the Orthodox, only a matrilinear bloodline can make you Jewish.

I picked up racism because Bodrul was not saying anything anti-Christian, or anti-anything except US policy. You brought up how his/her kind of people were "hateful," mentioning jihads specifically. Pretty indicative of racism if you ask me. I don't know anyone else who performs jihads.

Ask that to all those who want to just bomb the whole damned Mid-East. There are terms for Muslim Arabs in general, not necessarily just Muslims, that I won't mention here. Rest assured those people are discriminated against today.
