where they used an impacter about the size of a coffee table to hit a meteor 81million miles away. The new age of non-nuclear weapons of mass destruction are about to to arrive.

It was frustrating trying to stream NASA TV on 24,000 bps dialup, but at least NASA
has proved that they CAN indeed hit the side of a comet!

Considering that the US was using very good guidence systems to allow the impactor to hit the hunk of rock at that speed and with that accuracy, then they could do the same thing with a bigger piece of metal. they could send out similar mass objects and use the gravity of other planets to speed the object up to destructive speeds.
Their comes the issue of dust rising in the atmosphere. If we test impactors of various sizes on objects such as satalites, meteors, and planets, we can get a healthy picture at what is safe for use on earth; while causing as much damage to the enemy as possible.

Except the Earth's atmosphere would destroy it unlike the vacuum of space around a comet.

The same way space shuttles are destroyed when they reenter the atmosphere, right?
That impactor had guidence rockets on it.

one problem its called heat sheilding and the rods from god project.... using tungston rods that are 4 foot wide and 13 foot long coated with high heat resistant composits would be able make land fall with about 7-23kt of distrutive force. There is also a thing called air burts like the tagusta blast where a comit or mitor got super heated by a to direct line of entry and exploded with a few MT of force leveling miles and miles of forist. The object does not have to make land fall to do damage.

I think it would work if you could get your enemy to run towards you at 23,000 MPH..Just drop off a penny, and run..
