Personally, I like the heads up since I get most of my news from the web anyway. Televised news spends way too much time talking about those idiots in hollywood who are good liars(aka actors) and the things they do in their spare time for me, I'd rather tailor my news to what I'm interested in. So by reading the tickers, I get one liners to search for on the web, and flesh out the story myself. When I'm watching something that I'm interseted in, though, I don't even notice the ticker. Guess we Americans are just too focused
