Okay, I'm not in 3rd grade anymore, but I still thought this was pretty funny.

This is a very serious issue indeed.

In some countries, farmers are now taxed per head of cattle for the methane production / pollution problem which is a social (and global) nuisance and potential contributor of undetermined scale to all manner of atmospheric phenomena.

Farming and eating meat while it can be intensely pleasurable for omnivores like me, is a highly inefficient way of feeding human beings.

Be thankful that whaling is heavily restricted, and there are no whale farms.

Hmmm, since a whale song is said to be able to travel over thousands of miles under water.....
I wonder if whale flatulence could be heard likewise?

Well, the fact that there are so few whales and it is illegal to farm them (so there is no economic motive as with cattle) takes care of that problem.

Human farting is probably more than 6 billion times as harmful as whale farting when you consider the natural filtering system available to marine mammals but not to homo sapiens.

I cant imagine what a whale fart must smell like?!? You would probably pass out and go into a coma.
