Le ol' bait and switch

Ever baited someone into making an argument or asking a question you KNOW you can use against them? Is this morally wrong or just a natural part of strategic debate?M
Is it morally wrong? If you involve multiple people in on it would it be a conspiracy?

I did it to someone rather recently, (within 10 minutes) and am wondering about everyone's thoughts on it...E?

If you are having second thoughts or uneasy feelings about it now that is a sign that it was not the most ethical decision you have ever made.

It is perfectly acceptable under the normal rules of argumentation and debate. Whether you choose to do it in normal everyday conversation is a personal matter.

I was always taught the rationalization of "There's no rule against it" is a giant red flashing warning light.

also if you are having second thought --you are still in the window of time you can go delete the post ..... I have always figured if I have second thoughts about something it was probably a mistake. Just my 2 cents worth...
