The police discovered remains of four family members in an apartment in Moscow. The four apparently died at different times over a period of five years. The police forced the apartment's door open because maintenance fees were long overdue.

Unpaid bills led police to a gruesome discovery in a Moscow apartment, where they found the skeletal remains of four family members who apparently died at different times over a period of up to five years

The bodies of an elderly couple and their daughter and granddaughter were found by a police officer who forced the apartments door open because maintenance fees were long overdue

Investigators believe the man, who was born in 1912, died about five years ago, followed about two years later by his wife, while their daughter and adult granddaughter apparently died about two years ago

Aside from the condition of the bodies, other evidence suggesting that the deaths occurred years ago included a 1997 calendar in the grandfathers room, old ruble notes that are now out of circulation and food in the refrigerator dated 2003

the last time neighbors had seen any of the apartments residents was in August 2003

The Interfax news agency quoted an unidentified law enforcement source as saying there was a large amount mostly of Orthodox Christian religious literature in the apartment, as well as icons, and Rossiya showed a glass-doored cabinet with several icons inside.

This is insane. Living in an apartment for several years with your dead relatives. Crazy :shk:
