Ever see Wag the Dog? I knew that the insurgents would do something like this if they had any brains.

Declair the mythological terrorist to be dead, hold a funeral for him, march an empty casket or with stand in corpse (should be one on hand somewhere) through the streets of Baghdad... then the US has no more boogie man to scare us with. The insurgents kill off the US propaganda tool themselves.

Its genious...

... but did they really do it. Or was someone who they called al-Zarqawi actually killed? From what I understand he was never really alive in the first place. Then he grew back a limb and started a war in against the US in Iraq.. a holy war in a place that isn't that holy in the first place (or at least isn't treated as such).

"The war has ended, I saw it on TV! The CIA just ended our war!"

It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if they (Osama as well) are dead or alive. It actually does matter, but effectively it doesn’t matter if they are living or dead. Why? Because no matter what is reported or “proven” at this point, nobody is going to believe any reports of death.

They could parade Osama’s dead corpse down Main Street in an open casket with 50 scientists of all disciplines waving DNA evidence confirming his identity and some people still wouldn’t believe it.
