Longbow is nice; its an AGD Tac-One with Special Ops Paintball mods. I agree it is very expensive. A good sniper setup would be quiet and accurate and
low profile. This rules out most tourney guns, they have a hge profile and are brightly colored. Therefore, a good Autococker or Automag should do you
fine. The new Smart Parts Ion would be great for setting up ambushes because it is cheap and has high rate of fire. If I were you, I would stay away
from Armotech, Ariakon, and Warsensor. They all have bad problems that come up a lot. You should instead get something like this : Psychoballistics
Lightning (or Superbolt) Autococker, expansion chamber, and a nice barrel like a J&J Ceramic or Smart Parts Teardrop or Progressive. Never get a
barrel longer than 14" as it decreases gas efficiency and accuracy. That setup should be very quiet and accurate. That particular autococker can be
had for $140 new, which is really good price, but the pneumatics on it arent exactly the best. I heard from some people that theirs leaks, but some
report no problems. The pneumatics can be replaced with good ones though. For another good autococker I suggest a Trilogy Competition (also called
Trilogy Comp). It's around the price of a Tippmann A5 which is also nice, but pretty loud. (I have an A5)
The Trilogy Comp has a regulator for consistancy and it runs off of nice low pressure so it's quiet. I recommend getting a cheap compressed air tank
and a remote.
If you dont want an autococker, try Automags. A good quiet setup would be an Automag Pro-Classic, cheap nitro ('mags are quieter on nitro) and a
Qloader or something. The Qloader is a spring fed hopper that you can mount under barrel to lower your profile. It also feeds faster than any human
can shoot. It's probably the best loader you can get for sniping. The Pro-Classic is $229 on the Airgun Designs website. It comes with a decent
barrel too, but again I recommend a Smart Parts TearDrop or Progressive or a J&J Ceramic barrel. The Tac-One automag is probably the best mech gun
ever, but it's $450 and it uses nitro/HPA only. You can always get that and add on the Longbow kit.
Another option is a pump-action. The Phantom is one of the best, and so is the WGP Sniper. They are both pump action and accurate, the WGP Sniper is
the predecessor to the Autococker. It just uses a pump instead of pneumatics. Dont get a stock class phantom though, it requires you to tilt the gun
every time you load a ball. the one on specopspaintball.com is fine. A regulator can also make both pump guns quieter, and you can always convert the
Sniper to an autococker so it's semiauto. The Sniper comes in right feed, left feed, or vertical feed. Don't get vertical feed if you want to use a
sight, if you want a sight, and you have a vert feed, you need an offset rail.
Well, that's all I can think of for right now, if you have any questions dont be afraid to ask. Remember to camoflage yourself well, and have fun
balling!
