I was sitting here Bored.

When I thought is there any henge like sites in the U.S of A?

I found a LOT.(cool
)

And I found this Miami Stone Henge
www.keelynet.com...

an archaeological discovery on a building site in Miami, Florida.
Uncovered was a stone circle that had glyphs of animals around the outside.
The conservative view is that they are @700 years old, although some say
they are much older with apparently big similarities to Stone Henge. The
main problem for archaeologists is that the whole area is due to be covered

Can anybody tell me if the circle is still there or has it been built over?
It would be a pitty to lose another cool site.

Thank you for taking the time switchblade

Tequesta Indians used to inhabit the region. They belive they were the creator of this area. They were a tribe of wondering hunters, who apparently decided to settle in one spot. Sure they kept on wondering, but decided to have a central location. Check out this sight.www.trussel.com...

Hey, that is pretty cool, I hadn't heard of this site. There is one in New Hampshire that has already been discussed: www.abovetopsecret.com... Anyone interested in this will almost certainly want to read that thread, too.

There's only one problem: The Miami Circle may simply be the remains of an old septic tank.

That's the theory recently put forward by Jerald T. Milanich, an archaeologist at the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville. "When I was at the site this spring, I was immediately skeptical," says Milanich. There is, in fact, a septic tank buried in the limestone just inside the circle's southern rim. It was put there in the 1950s to serve a small apartment building razed last year to make room for the new development. "Those holes look like they could be part of an overflow drain," says Milanich. "I've been in this business too long not to have a suspicious mind." [\quote].

And one last thing I found at www.anomalous-images.com...

Stonehenge on Mars?

This amazing image shows what appears to be a partial 'stonehenge' arrangement of large upright boulders near a large valley formed by the erosion of water millions of years ago on Mars. This formation is located approximately 6 degrees S latitude, 357.5 W longitude. North is approximately toward the top of the image. This circular area lies on the edge of an ancient river. The natural barrier to the right of the standing formation may have protected the boulders from innundation by the otherwise destructive water that may have been moving to the right from this bend in the ancient river [\quote]

So I am keeping an open mind.

Thank you all again switchblade
