That must be 1 hell of a heavy rucksack annd not mention huge rucksack!

Just the alchohol and the cigs....(and they'd be in a separate duffle....)

Most is actually worn, not in the sack (the tent and sleeping bag, etc.)

I've gone camping with all of this before, so shouldn't be a big deal....

1. A sharpened combat knife, with a belt holster.
2. Several lighters and lighter fluid, plus cook's matches
3. A long roll of tin foil (useful for cooking)
4. A compact one man tent in camouflage colours
5. A large camouflage net
6. Sleeping bag
7. Compass and an Ordnance Survey map of Scotland
8. Tinned food, bottled water (in glass bottles, useful for molotovs
)
9. Water purifying tablets
10. A warm jacket, hat and gloves.
11. A .22 rifle with a telescopic sight, if I can get my hands on one, and plenty of ammo.
12. Folding saw, claw hammer, nails of various sizes.
13. Petroleum fuel and motor oil, the ingredients of the classic molotov cocktail.
14. Rags and cloths for cleaning, and for fusing my molotovs.
15. My dog. If nothing else, he'd make a good meal.

My plan of action would be to head for the hills, build a long term shelter and become reasonably self sufficient until things calmed down. I'd try to stay secluded and camouflaged in an area of woodland which might seem inaccessable. I'd try to stay within a few hours walk of a population centre.

It's called my laptop bag ( which, after walking 60 NYC blocks on the day of the balckout, will become a backpack).

- Nuts = simple nutrition that's very portable
- water = 32 oz bottle everyday. With the nuts, I've got a couple of days banked.
- telescoping baton = great attitude adjuster, and in the hands of someone who's studied the Phillipino styles like myself, you can clear a crowd right quick.
- belt = a very overlooked weapon. All my business casual or formal belts are good quality leather with a substantial buckle - a great defensive & offensive tool.
- footwear = take care of your feet! Had I not gotten into the habit of wearing sneakers for the to & from between the office & train, I'd be hurting. Plus, given a worse case scenario of confrontation, how can you angle in Gucci loafers?
- Laptop bag itself = funny to say, but watch a Jackie Chan movie and learn how to use your environment and what's on your person. It's readily available, and can save you from having to block a bat or pipe with a forearm - likely taking the use of said appendage out of action.
Alien pretty much summed up my survivalist cache, except I'd take my bow as well and my wrist rocket sling shot - I'd have limitless ammo & can kill all the small game I can eat with those ball bearings.

I can only have one ruck? Well, I suppose I'll have to rely on oak trees for TP and roadkill for food because my ruck is going to have to have my beer-making kit in it. Never leave civilization without the necessities!!

TC, you reminded me of the one thing I forgot to put on the list...the most important thing...

whiskey

It's a painkiller, disinfectant/antiseptic, it warms you up, and it takes your mind off the carnage and death going on around the world
.

P.S. When I said I'd take my dog, I didn't mean that I'd put him in my bag...

Bolt action 22LR rifle, ammo
Hand axe/Machette
Wrist rocket sling shot
