Do you want to be more specific in what you want to know about them? That's kind of a broad question!

I was told at school that the reason Christians prayed with their hands clasped together rather than the more common method of arms wide open in supplication was because when they were tightly bound in chains awaiting execution they were unable to spread their arms wide so instead clasped their hands together.

And very tasty they were too, according to the lions anyway

Well since Christianity was outlawed they would be fed to lions if they were found practicing the religion. The cardinals had to live in secret.

I never thought about it. Never thought to question that.
That sounds logical.
Have to look it up now. Thanks for posting it

actaully the spreading your hands outstreches was something the Jews did to show how "religious" they were. After Jesus's sermon on the mount it change to be a more private thing then a public spectacle.

Matthew Chapter 5 (I think, i am not checking) dealing with prayer.

The first christians in Rome were the same Roman people that accepted christianity, you have to understand that the practice of Judaism was already in Rome, christianity was a sect and many of them just accepted it.

Romans that were christians did their worshiping in secret for years while spreading their believes.
