I stumbled upon this while I was perusing the newsboards. i found it fascinating as that area of Australia is in the throes of the longest drought in history.

Well, this part


He adds "these greater forces could be atmospheric pressure or barometric pressure. When there is a higher pressure in the air, it acts like a weight and the water can't get to the surface. When the pressure in the air drops, the weight is lifted."


That's just silly. I can't see atmospheric pressure swings large enough to hold back/allow springs to flow.
