Is ATS Being watched?

We all seem to agree we are being watched/monitored by various agencies and that some/many members work for the government and post here also.

Some of this will be personal abuse of internet priviledges and some may be paid to supply disinformation as suggested on other threads.

The question is who - some posters supply brilliant information but they do so a lie is best told between two truths.

At least most statements are thoroughly challenged on this board so we can all make up our own minds - unless of course you live near a HAARP site.

If you believe in echelon, then, of course the gov has been peeking in.

Sadly, unless there is a major overhaul of the security systems on this web-site, because of what happeneed yesterday, the powers that be will have this place under a microscope.

MI5 have a purpose built installation for monitoring of all email the go in and out of the UK ... whos to say that they don't watch where we go online also?

While conspiracy theorists are regarded as crackpots to the mainstream world...all governments belive in them. They have entire departments setup to monitor and track insurrection movements. And they use our tax dollars to do it. The first axiom of authority is always its own security.
You have to remember that we have and administration that is looked upon as illegitimate by at least fifty million registered voters. GWB was elected with forty-nine million votes...thats 1/6 the population of the United States. Even within their own party this admin is seen as extremist. So you have a reigning government backed by 1/6 the popluation that has taken in a record 262 million dollars in campaign contributions. 27 million have come from companies that have since gone bankrupt and decimated the economy while illegally getting rich before the bail-out. Unemployment is high (the 6.4% figure is bogus), there was 9/11 which is increasingly looking like an inside job, there are continuing problems in Afganistan, perhaps lying and war-profiteering from a war in Iraq. Rumblings of escalations of conflict with North Korea, Iran and Syria. This administration is built on paranoia. civil rights have been rolled back, military trials are being attempted, the power of the judicial branch has been gutted. There is a new military force to police the "homeland". The military has never seen so large a budget increase. They tried to turn 8% of the population into spying on there own people (TIA). The right to illegal stops and seizure is almost gone. The rightto a fair trial with representation hangs on the whims of national security. People who have spoken out have been denounced as traitiors and been smeared publicly. DOD has engaged in frivolous propoganda (jessica lynch - topppling of the saddam statue).
Paranoia is the status quo for this admin. They know their power hangs by a thread, it was dubious to begin with and as soon as people start tracing the money, from insider stock knowledge to war contracts for friends to tax cuts and EPA rollbacks for high end contributors this house of cards will come down. They know that there use of 9/11 (orchestrated or not) can now be shown as shameful excuse for war profiteering and dictatorial displays of power.
58,000 people were wrongfully removed from the voter registration one week before the election. Where's the outrage??!
They are absolutely watching. Whats worse is that they have convinced us to watch each other while they make off with all the money. Shame on whoever snitched to the FBI. A POX on you and your family for 4 generations. You are a traitor to the human race!

I agee with nightwalker, What happened yesterday sort of makes me think we are being watched.
Also i think, like others here that there is gov's on this site, just having a read and posting as we do!
im sure they would have a interest in most of the topics here,

yes..I too think above top secret is being watched...well..not ats..its the members they are watching

It has crossed my mind that ATS might be the watchers. Its just a thought. Some topics in here would have to come from within, I would think. I found the sight by doing an eyes wide shut search. Neal Boortz uses that phrase daily, "These days you can't afford to keep your eyes wide shut".

I am watching the spooks here very, very closely indeed.

Like the one about the Feds and the homeless on another topic, where I suggested that some libertarian philanthropists go about structuring a program to have the homeless watching the Feds for us. That would be a better application of taxpayer funds than the reverse.

They can watch anyone, but I doubt they're too concerned with an Inet forum. If this was my board, I'd be tracing IP's alot though, just to see.

Echelon is one of a variety of autobots purportedly tracking internet content and flagging sites and emails with specifically prescribed words and content.
