The only objection I would have is if they decide for me that I will have to make a choice to either kill them, or be killed myself (or life in prison) for not having done so. I am active duty.

This is the "Self Preserve" side of me speaking.

But, I am no longer subject to "Self Preserve" ("No one thinks faster than someone who is being shot at."), so I would explain the scenario as:

The world is a raw jigsaw puzzle, and these people are obviously bent on cutting off more pieces that will have to be put back together again at a later date when we value the whole over the parts. Too bad those who are leaving can't go to any of the other hundreds of countries/states that exist. Too bad they are too good for the rest of the world.

So, it is not my intolerance, nor my objection that matters.

I think you are assuming there would be a military conflict. It could be done legally and bloodlessly (via Constitutional convention called by the state legislatures for example).

Which raises an interesting hypothetical that you are under no obligation to answer of course; If it were done legally (via Constitutional means), but the President ordered it stopped nonetheless (a likely scenario if it were to happen), would you obey the President (via your commanding officer) over the Constitution you have sworn to protect?

I live in the Pacific North-West, Washington state to be precise, and
the onyl reason I'd ever even heard about this was through researching
seccesionist movements, it's not something that alot of people have
even heard of, or at least if they have, talk about.

Personally I'm all for it, so long as it's a constiutional Democracy and
not a republic or democratic republic.
