Point well taken. However, it's not as simple as that. It is not mind over matter, nor it is matter over mind. I think it's a little bit of both,
because there are clear instances of both, imo.
I don't see the problem here. It is just a matter of definitions. Most people would say 'mind over matter' means achiving by thought something that
cannot be explained by normal science. By moving one's hand there are no mysterious physics at work. You simply took as definition the exact meaning
of the words insted of the meaning people use, therefore it's two different discassions.
I was in wrestling once. I know how to take down guys that are twice my size. This is mind over matter.
The big guy would get up and punch me in the face if i decided to take him down. This is matter over mind.
