What kind of military buys 150 guns and only 120 bullets? Taiwan's military, of course.

Taiwan's air force has enough munitions to last only two days in a war with China.

At present, Taiwan has a limited number of air-to-air missiles: 120 AIM-120 AMRAAMs, 600 AIM-7 Sparrows and 900 AIM-9 Sidewinders for its 150 F-16 Falcon and 60-plus F-5 Tiger fighter aircraft.

Also, Taiwan only has 40 AGM-65 Mavericks and 58 AGM-84 Harpoons for ground targets. Taiwan's supply of missiles for its French-made Mirage 2000s and domestically produced Indigenous Defense Fighters face similar deficiencies.

This is not 2 days worth, it is two loadouts worth

F-16 loadout - 2 Sparrow + 2 Sidewinder = 300 Sparrow and 300 Sidewinder
F-5 loadout - 2 AMRAAM + 2 Sidewinder = 120 AMRAAM and 120 Sidewinders

First load total for TAF is 300 Sparrow, 120 AMRAAM and 420 Sidewinders
Second load total for TAF is 300 Sparrow and 420 Sidewinders (assuming all planes return from first sortie)

Missiles left at end of second sortie (assuming all planes return from both sorties) is 60 Sidewinders.

don't underestimate taiwan, they got more teeth than you think. perhaps they hide their true amount of ammo? maybe, but i guess it's enough to damage china if it ever attacks enough to put it behind the rest of the world many years lol

That is a lot of missles. Say only 50% of the missles hit, thats already 800 aircraft downed. Its more than enough to last until either the PLA gives up or the PLA takes control of China, or shoots down all their aircraft. The Taiwanese need a better navy and airforce against China, when it comes to battle on land after the PLA has landed on Taiwan, then it will be all over for Taiwan, with 20 million guns or 2 guns it will not make much difference on land.
