www.military.com...

pretty clever that this vehicle's purpose was to be used as target practice. now they are using them for surveillance. probably in future unmanned attack boats may be common in the future.

Nice find deltaboy, I have anonther idea about how this vessel could be used. I'm thinking it could be a harbour security vessel that monitors navy harbors for combat swimmers even mini subs or susipicous boats. What do ya think of that idea?

the U.S. Navy no doubt probably thought of using the vessel as well as new generations of unmanned vessels for not just surveillance and detecting mines but also for port security and protecting docking ships.

Yeah also the coast guard could use them to spot suspicous boats far away from the coast of the US. It could be like a network of RPVs spotting the boats , and manned ships intercepting the boats.

oh yeah one thing I kinda don't like is if they due patrol ports there have programed routes that they patrol which gives the enemy the advantage of knowing when the boat is gonna patrol a certain spot. Butthere be able to act on their own someday so I'm sure that won't be that much of a problem.

yea, that might be a problem, but i am sure they can come up with something to counter that. one of which i think of is to have a random pick of patrol routes.
