Aliens breathe oxygen too?

Ive begin to think lately ive never heard any reports of aliens ever wearing any type of brearthing devices. when people are abducted i wonder if they are given anytype of breathing mechanism. If the reports of extraterestrials surviving any type of crash is true wouldnt they have to breathe oxygen to survive. most reports ive heard of any kind of aliens on earth never mention any type of breathing equipment. would that mean that all life even the kind from other planets need oxygen to survive too?

Well, Some of them don't breathe the same oxygen/nitrogen ratio and some of them don't tolerate the same atmospheric pressure or both.

Seems to me EBEs may indeed have that type of extraterstrial problem..

In the movie Fire in the Sky, Travis Walton (I think that's his name) saw some "grey" suites with the big black eyes and everyting. That's the only time I've heard of it.

If you read enough reports, you'll find that many ET encounters are with beings that wear masks or helmets. One of the most famous ET photographs that exists, the Cumbrian Spaceman photo, is of a being that is apparently wearing a white helmet and suit. I don't know if that means they can't breathe our atmosphere, but at least some appear to not be able to.

But if i came from a nice clean planet i dont think i would want my lungs or whatever i have to breath, the pollution on our plant. but ive heard of instances where there were masks and suits worn. its just i dont hear them that often.

Despite our current logic ,we have found life in the total absence of Oxygen.
We have found life everywhere we have looked so far , and there is no evidence that will not be true the further away from Earth we look.

Before life on earth adapted to it, taking in oxygen would have been like breathing acid, ie pretty bad for your health.

So I would say that aliens breathe whatever they have adapted to.

Many years ago, before the film came out, I went to the "sneak preview" with my dad. My dad's friend worked for Warner Bros. so we would always go to these sneak previews. Anyway, the guy Travis Walton (I don't remember his name either, so we both could be wrong) was there. We met him and got pictures with him and whatnot. To make a long story short, we sat near him during the showing of the movie. It must have really gotten to him because he kept shaking and kinda freaking out. It really made me believe his story because he couldn't quite handle watching it play out on film. Just thought I'd throw that out there!

I've always hated that photo, as to me, it clearly looks like the back view of a golfer.....and nothing out of the ordinary....

There have been many reports of beings wearing suits and helmets, but most do not. You would think it would be a good argument against them being extraterrestrial, and that maybe they've been here all along, for example time travelers. But I also consider the possibility that these beings are biologically engineered, and are not the real aliens. So if you were sending a probe to Earth with some occupants, wouldn't you design them to be able to survive in that atmosphere? Just throwing that out, don't think I even believe that, but a possibility.

Maybe they are just squishy blobs that conform to pressure

Either way, that of course leads to another big unknown: Technology. What if aliens arent bound by something as simple as breathing or pressure? I'm not talking about something as simple as "suits" or "helmets". Use a few [billion] nanobots to strengthen the skin and bones or use an implant to filter out oxygen and breathe CO2 in realtime (assuming that would be good for them). Genetic manipulation to handle anything anywhere. What if they dont have any need to breathe at all, using tech that simply generates whatever they breathe inside their bodies?

I believe that they may be probes like the ones we are sending on mars... but more evoluate. Maybe aliens just don't come from planets with the concept of breathing and they come from another ``base element`` than ours.

Hum, these last two posts got me thinking.

What if these things we are encountering are nothing more than biological probes? It isn't that far fetched to think that aliens could be as adept at using biology and chemistry to create products the same way that we [humans] create products through mechanical application.

In such a scenerio, we not be encountering the real aliens at all, just their research peons.

I like that idea. The only weak point is that, if they wanted to do it secretively, they'd use something that appeared to be indigenous. Still, biological probes makes a lot of sense.

I think that most ETs that come here are those that are from environments relatively similar to Earth, so suits wouldn't be necessary for taking a quick peek outside. But it would be a good question (although there's still that "what would you be thinking about?!" rhetoric) to ask what did abductees notice about conditions abord a ship? Was it wetter or heavier or warmer or etc?
