Someone posted that link a while ago and I just recently saw something on the Discover channel about it. Cool, but a million dollars? Maybe when I get a million dollars. Something like this may catch on in the future, of course we've imagined flying cars, but it's like when cars were first invented, only for the rich, but now almost everyone has one. Ya! So I give it 100 years.

Looks quite cool, however they would require some kind of air guidance system, to aviod air accidents.

Iw would have to use some kind of auto pilot, regular people probably would not be able to fly it.

Its going to be awhile before this thing is the gold standard. Did anyone check out the video? They have a vertical take-off video that you should check out. As it is taking off, it is veering off path. In a city environment, he already would have crashed into a building. Good luck landing this thing in a standard size parking space without landing on one of the other cars!!

Yes, that is what I was thinking. I beleive that we will be riding on the ground for mayn years to come. I am betting cars will improve alot in the next few years though.

Heh, I'd pay a million bucks for this thing. It would probably turn a lot heads eh?

Take Care.

Why have a skycar when you can buy a plane or a helicopter?! Nobody would be able to use it the way we use cars today...you can't build roads in the sky.It might clear up congestion on the roads if everyone had one, but at $1 000 000, it's a stupid idea to get one now.

Cider, they are thinking about re-building the roads and putting them underground, in order to get rid of street congestion. They would then replace the streets with parks or some sort of good environment. They are thinking of doing this in Boston to try it out. It is from Discovery Channel, have fun with it - It is an interactive tour of how they would build it.

The info page for this was down, sorry.

Enjoy.

It's the beginning...

They are grooming us for underground life, because they know the surface of this world will be destroyed.

Why not get started with expanding on already existing tunnels and call them what they will.

Hey Dragon, how much does that underground mapping hardware run? Would you mind going on some extended crosscountry trips say next spring? Maybe we will discover easier routes for the ATS conventions...

The problem is this Moller Sky car prototype has been around for nearly 15 years now. I remember when I was a kid I had a book about this thing, and in all that time nothing has changed about it apart from the hype the company makes of it!

About the handling of these things. It probably doesn't have a very nice computer on it yet that handles every request from the pilot and checks it for validity. I mean, similar systems are needed to fly the F-117 Nighthawk, cause otherwise it would just fall out of the sky. So I guess you could land it on a dime once those systems become available for the general public(And they're not really a matter of national security in my opinion, so why not??).
