I just found this video of a gorilla walking upright. Pretty cool! I reminds me of the bigfoot "Patterson" footage.

Not at all - Unless you are a creationist.

Plants do this all the time, and its actually basis for the great diversity of plants to a great extent. Some plant species are even able to interbreed, with different numbers of chromosomes. Just to put it into context, there's a fern species of the Ophioglossum genus that has up to 1280 chromosomes, which shows how diverse it can get. Also, there are even species where the male and females have different chromosome counts, like the mammal Echidnas.
