It would appear the cold war still rages. This really should not be a shock to anyone, but based on this story it has suprised at least the reporter.

MOSCOW - Russia's security chief said Thursday that his agency has uncovered U.S., British, Kuwaiti and Saudi spy activity that was being conducted under the cover of non-governmental organizations.

The head of the Federal Security Service or FSB, Nikolai Patrushev, also suggested that foreign governments are using NGOs to fund and support changes of power in former Soviet republics.

That the US is using NGOs as tool for a regime change is not anything new.

As for the rest, the FSB report can mean anything, for example their attempt to look important.

Guess what? For the Intelligence Agencies Cold War never really Ended.

The Wall is just not so visible anymore.

So basicly all the agancies are running Loose and stirring up trouble like crazy all over the World.

Considering the inability of the Russians to account for many missing 'suitcase nukes'............ I think our covert surveillance of things formerly Soviet is a wonderful procedure.

Spying is an art and a trade used by the many, many nations.
Just ask the Chinese:

Since the mid-1980s China has developed the world's third-largest spy system, after the U.S. and Russia, according to the "Intelligence Threat Handbook" distributed to Pentagon personnel...

This is not a "Cold War" re-emergence or a continued "Cold War" practice.
Spying is a natural function of the state, any state.

i think we are seeing another cold war, because it seems Russia is starting to wake up again. She could cause some trouble for the states, with them helping out Iran,etc

I see this as trying to make a big deal out of nothing. Hell it was just last week or the week before when the US caught a spy from Israel .

Spying has gone on for years by all countries and will continue until the end of time, that is the way things are in the real world.
