You are correct. There will never be Peace.
Some humans thrive in conflict. What's more, they know this and find it to be in their perceived best interest to encourage situations and
enviorments which produce conflict.
The fallacy some of you are engaing in is overestimating the inherent "good" in all people. Some people just aren't like that, for any number of
reasons.
For 99.8% of human existance, domination, aggresiveness, and the use of violence have been absolute survival traits. How could anyone imagine that
those tendancies and traits can just be switched off now that we presume to call ourselves civilized? At most, we have managed to restrain many of the
physical ramifications of our underlying savagery, but only because we have changed the nature of the conflict by changing the enviornment so that
physical violence is obviously out of place and counterproductive. The lust for domination and power is still there (sports? politics? driving the
nicer car? having the hotter mate? making the most money? COMPETITION!!!). Domanance and power-seeking are natural tendancies, observed in almost all
species to some degree, not just humans.
For these reasons, there will never be Peace. We aren't wired or programed for it.
