The fifth day of the week (thursday) falling on the 5th of May in a 005 year is a once in 7000 year occurance.

Today at 5:05:05 am & pm the time will be 05:05:05 05/05/005....

05.05.005 comes only once in 1000 years and coinciding with Thursday (5th Day of the week) comes only once in 7000 yrs

Please visit the link provided for the complete story.

I know this is probably trivial...HOWEVER, it MUST mean something. Maybe some celestial re-alignment, maybe some event of historic significance, maybe a geo-societal conscience shift, maybe just a good time to have a beer
...

Seeing as how this is a result of human abritrary calendar creation that is less than 7000 years old, I doubt this is of any celestial significance.

I don't know; I kind of like the 'good time to have a beer' hypothesis.

I always like to stop and consider the moment when my car rolls over
to 100000.0 miles. Nothing "special" has ever happened but all those
zero's must mean something.

Actually, ever since a few days ago, the time to look forward to (and fear) is 6:01:06 PM on June 1, 2006.

Well, that's been the day to fear forever, you just didn't know it until yesterday.

Although I bet we're lucky we don't have 616 day in a year. We ever go to Mars, though, we're doomed...

What!!! Isn't there supposed to be a God who created the world in six days, and then rested on the seventh day, which is why, in imitation of this God, we, too, rest on the seventh and last day of the week?!?!?!?! According to this myth, fable or legend, resting on the first day would make no sense whatsoever. In the languages that sprang from the common Latin stock the name for that seventh, resting, day --"domingo", "doménica", "dimanche"-- means "the day of the Lord", "domini" being "lord" in Latin, as in "Initium sapientiae timor Domini".
So we begin our weeks with the first of the working days, Monday, and go to work. You all sound like aliens with a poor knowledge of our Terran ways. What's going on here?!?!!
