THE CUBE

I have watched this movie several times. Each time I wonder if something like this could ever really exist. Who would build such a structure and why? Maybe the government, but for what reason? If you have ever scene this movie you understand that people are just taken from there homes and put in this maze. No one knows why or how they got there. What makes the whole thing even weirder is that everyone there has a key to getting them out of the cube, but they dont know what the keys are. Some are math wizards, some escape artists, and others helped design this type of system. We all know the government has seceret facilities all over the US and in other countries. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? The math and science that would have to go into this would be overwhelming. Most of the people involved in building of this type of structure would probally only be given access to one part of the project. Please let me know if anything like this really does exist.

"DON"T PANIC" as the late Douglas Adams said. Its only a story albeit a very good one. Didnt see the ending coming. Great twist. Done on a "shoe string" budget from Canada if I remember.

That's a coincidence, i've just rented the DVD, going to watch it tonight. So i guess i can't really comment on it properly until tomorrow

I havn't seen the movie but from your post, I would have to simply state that such a facility simply does NOT exist. My reasoning for making this blanket statement is simply, why? It would be easier to ascertain such a facilitys' existance if we knew the reason for the facility to begin with. If there were a valid reason then, perhaps, we could speculate that such a cube was actually a reality -- but it would have to be compelling enough for the government to build. Anyway, the movie sounds interesting and I'll be making a trip to my local video store soon.

Watch CUBE ZERO it explains some things as it is a prequel to CUBE and is the third film.

in CUBE ZERO it explains that the people are meant to be prisoners that are on death row, and have signed a paper saying put them in the CUBE as they stand a chance of freedom if they escape, but it becomes apparent that the goverment is putting innocent peole in the cube who are political trouble makers or just trouble makers.. theres more to it go rent it or buy it.

If you ask me the sequel/prequel ruined the original film. Part of the mystery was that you never really learned what was happening, by trying to explain the story (poorly I must say) they've missed part of the point and effect of the original film. A classic I must say.

What was the goverment after in the 2nd movie. I never understood what the thing was at the end. Please let me know if you have any insight on this matter

i think they was after one of the people who had very important info that one of them was carrying hidden away on themselves somewhere, as they had been brainwashed or whatever they forgot they had it so the secret spy had to guess who it was an where or what the hidden info was an retrieve it, i think the info was about the new cube and how it was built or worked as it folded time or something. might of been a password to stop the cube or start, resetit so it was not destoyed or lost as i think the person they went after was the designer of the cube 2.

I have not seen anything on the new cube you are talking about. Would it be at blockbuster or something. I would love to rent this video. The first one was wierd but the second threw me for a loop because I still didn't get the ending. I know the girl was an incredible hacker who designed the cube but I had no idea the info she was carring with her or why they killed the spy at the end. Maybe it was because she figured out how to beat the cube and what the number meant. Who knows.

that was probably cube 2:hypercube. it was on about a year ago. not bad, didn't see the first one so i can't really compare

I wasn't really looking for any biblical out looks about the movie. If you think about it not all those people were bad. Some of them just spoke out against the government. Now were in your holy wisdom does it explain getting screwed by the government is the same as not having faith in god.

Yeah, good points there but I think the religious link is a bit tenuous. Was a very deep film if you watch it in the right way, which is why I disliked the sequels so much, they just ruined the whole feel of the movie.

The first film was great relly enjoyed it Me and my bro watched it while chilling out with a few beers not bad to say it was made in 2 rooms the second film was ok but I think spoiled the first but in parts i found it funny.
