This is a story that hapened in a small town in Mexico about a six hour drive away from my house:

... In this town, they had a community pond that the Spaniards had dug over 200 year ago. It was fed by two springs.

The funny thing is ducks would go out swimming in the pond, then..

WHAMMO!!!

...there would be a giant splash and the duck was gone.

This had been happening for about 3 months, then the mayor called in the police to kill all of the alligators in the area...

(13 alligators and 2 weeks later)

Ducks were still dissapearing.

The dissappearences continued for about two more years until, finally, one day, a fisherman went fishing off the side of the pond with chicken necks as his bait. He was catching some nice largemouth bass and was about to go home..
then..

all of a sudden, he gets this giant pull on his line and has to have his friends hold him back while he braces against the side of the pier.

the fisherman and the 'creature' fought for alomst 3 hours until his nephew showed up with a harpoon. He threw the hapoon at the 'dark moving shadow' in the water and it slowed down. The old man pulled it in.

It was a 5 foot long perch!!!
His son, who was a medical exainer, looked inside it and found entire duck skeletons, baby alligators (dead), turtles, other birds, beer cans, and a walkie talkie.

This isn't a fake story.
It happened about 10 year ago.

My youth minister told me about this one time while we were in Mexico. His dad had been there when it happened.

There really could be giant marine animals like salamaders, Nessie (pleiosaurus), or giant turtles.
This does support the giant fish, alligator, shark, and dinosaur theory.

What do you think?

I know this is a little off subject but your story just inspired an idea. Maybe Nessie is a giant turtle.
That would explain why it isn't found, maybe it burrows into the mud at the bottom of the loch. It wouldn't show up on radar. Also, it could leave the water. I could see it looking close enough to the pictures too. Imagine a turtle diving, it's tail would fit the description of nessie's head and neck.

Just a thought.

to say the least. Brings to mind stories (and photos) of those giant South American snakes...

actually this happens all the time here in south dakota. the culprit here is the northern pike. i actually have a lure for these fish and it's basically a rubber duckie that your kids probably have in the bath tub. it's a really nasty and vile fish. it's one of the few fish that are actually slimy, and the teeth on them puppies can sever fingers, not to mention the infections you get from them. so it could just be a fish.

I fish for nothern pike before to. I've had a bass on my line and a pike ate everything except the head which I reeled in.

It was actally in El Ranchito, Mexico.

I don't think there are any more. The University of Texas sent some scientsists to investigate, but there weren't any more giant perch.

Sorry
