1,163 illegal migrants have crossed the Channel in the last 3 days and in a few months we will discover how many legal migrants arrived this year which will likely be somewhere just short of 1 million again so our New Years message to the government is enough is enough.

We believe our country is facing serious challenges both from legal and illegal migration, and think the only way to deal with this is to suspend all immigration temporarily for 5 years.

We think we need a tougher approach. We believe we can’t even look after the people we have here at the moment.

This petition has only been running for 2 days and has already attracted 80,911+1 signatures , could this break the 3 million barrier too ?

Bill Clinton is often quoted in some context for a smart-assed saying, "It's the economy, stupid!"

Some of the problems around the world, and they will grow stronger, are the mostly unrealized effects that will appear as nations grow weaker because the root stock of citizens dwindle. Every aspect of those economies will weaken.

Immigration is the only power that can sustain them if the citizens lose interest and capabilities in the restoring the traditional norm. The reasons for the declines vary, but the results can be clearly defined on paper, whether in raw data of various kinds or the simple fact of money in circulation of the domain.

The downside of immigration as a "cure-all" is obvious to many, a road to doom, painfully evident as governments alter, change and make new laws to welcome those that have little interest in anything other than a seat at the table,

I would sign this but I disagree with the legal immigration. Unless they mean all family can come over for free if one managed to stay.
That said, proper immigration, where you have to apply and have money and a job is not dangerous.
Also who cares if Danish people or Japanese people or Italians or Germans come here?
Let's call a spade a spade. It's people with certain religious views who live in their own enclaves and 3rd world males who think this is the land of milk and honey or are of criminal minds who are the problem.

Being an immigrant from Germany through marriage and being more british than a lot of natives after 35 years here, I feel they should have worded it a bit better.

I agree with your stance on legal immigration, and that works both ways. However, there is an old saying that comes to mind.... "one rotten apple, spoils the whole barrel." I'm applying this to all the illegal immigrants.

Also, latest statistics to year ending June: 1.2 million legal migrants in total. One million (86%) were non-european nationals. 10% or 116,000 were EU and nationals, and just 5% or 58,000 were UK nationals. These figures are from the ONS.
The legal migrant statistics are unsustainable when it's clearly impacting our infrastructure to the detriment of nationals.

Add to that the 30,000 odd total illegals, 20,000 are since labour got into power in July, so that's 100% more since the first half of this year..... and you have 30,000 rotten apples this year alone. Then we have 99,700 asylum seekers in the 12 months up to September this year, of which 25% crossed the channel illegally.

BTW, I'm sort of tickled that Starmer has been able to change the term illegal to irregular immigrants, even across government websites. There is nothing 'irregular' about these people other than they don't have relevant paperwork and chose to cross ILLEGALLY!

I can agree, that just maybe, the person should have worded it better. However, whichever way you cut it that's over 2,000,000 legal and illegal immigrants in the last 12 months alone. Our population stood at approximately 67,500,000 in mid 2022. As of yesterday our population stood at 69,340,199. We can't keep on accomodating this 'explosion' in our population.

So, shutting our borders to both legal and illegal for 5 years seems reasonable to at least sort out the backlog and play catch up with our infrastructure.

I've just talked myself into signing it. Now standing at 98,081 at my time of signing.

because the root stock of citizens dwindle.

But you must know that the diminishment of the root stock of citizens in Western nations is precisely the goal and has been the goal of the elites since the fall of Berlin. Such diminishment well and effectively undermines nationalism, seen to be the great evil that propelled the world into World Wars.

The great paradox is that as nationalism and nationalistic characteristics of the root stock populations dwindles, so too dwindles their allegiance to national governance which all too soon becomes near irrelevant. As the relevance of central governments diminishes, lawlessness and disrespect for any and all authority rises and such nation states ultimately fall or worse, their governments are replaced by strongmen of the likes of Castro in Cuba and Maduro in Venezuela.

Petitions or not, the course is set......it's far too late to undo the damage; the pebble's in the pond and the ripples are becoming a Tsunami. Those who see this take the usual course of leaving failed nation states before becoming crushed in their ultimate collapse.

23% of UK adults are considering moving abroad in the next five years, with 12% contemplating emigration in the next 12 months.
Manchester is the UK city where the most people are considering moving abroad, with 35% reporting that they are considering moving aboard in the next 5 years and 10% considering emigration now.
South Africa, Spain, Cyprus, Portugal, and Greece are identified as the countries where aspiring British expats have the greatest property purchasing power.
