glad to see Orange County putting some teeth back in the law.

As America prepares for the new administration I'm left to ponder why all of the crazy policies, like DEI, defund the Police, de-criminalizing so many offenses, etc. all of a sudden are being reversed.

What was the point of the last four years of utter nonsense and insanity? Just to keep the country divided in hopes of a liberal win in 2024?

Regardless, I'm glad to see a bit of reason returning to society.

the leftist progressives that control the Democrat party are obsessed with dismantling the USA as we know it and replacing with some Star-Trek progressive futurist socialist society (with them in charge of course).
its about control. less control for working people and rich people, more control for government.

imho the whole thing is a war on traditional values, specifically Christianity.

Yes, but the DNC machine has retracted its claws since losing the election. Could it be they aren't going to waste any more money on propagand but rather spend it behind the scenes for a midterm and then a 2028 showdown?
It's not like liberals to give up their control driven agendas.

Kids today are wicked smart and will push the boundaries of legal loopholes to their advantage.

Ulta Beauty is a hot button for all sorts of shrinkage as it is across the country, some girls/women will return items after using them once and request a refund with their reciept in hand. Others will steal within the "misdemeanor" limit and sell at a lower cost to other girls on the black market, then there is shoplifiting for personal use.

The social media is flooded with makeup tutorials and all that stuff, and we all know young girls are almost obsessed with makeup for various reasons, and demand for certain palletes, colors, shades, brands, brushes, etc is in high demand.

Some serial shoplifters make it more than a habit or one time thing, they make it a lifestyle, and a lot of these girls are all like "it's just a misdemeanor, slap on the wrist, they'll be lenient because I'm a girl and it's a victimless crime" and it just builds from there and gets worse.

I've met so many young people lately who don't give two rats asses about any type of law whatsoever, and watching entire demographics just devolve into theft and criminal records is disconcerting. Some aren't content to just steal from stores and corporations, they get sticky fingers in private residences as well with just about anything they can get their hands on if it suits their addictions, fetishes, street resale worth, etc.

They're young and "immortal" and consider themselves untouchable and it sets a bad precedence.

It certainly is a complicated situation.

There's got to be a better way.

Oddly, the judge later asked if the prosecutor provided enough evidence to prove without a doubt the defendant was guilty, would we provide a guilty verdict without having to hear the defendant's account/testimony. As once again I raised my hand to voice my concern over not hearing the defendant's side of the story, especially when he just described the previous example when it was reversed after the a jury's deliberation.

I've been kicked out and/or dismissed from courthouses over 5 different times for questioning their contradictions. Although I hadn't heard of jury nullification before this thread, I would have no problem addressing it in a courtroom. I'm not saying you are, but we need people to not be fearful from questioning the integrity of anyone who proves themselves to be inconsistent, especially government officials.
