Yes folks today, Dec 17th is the day The Several States certify their Electoral College votes.

State Legislatures in session all day.

Trump has in fact officially past the 270 count!

Next step is . . . . . (wait for it....) The Jan 6th Congressional "Counting" 🤣🤣, then the Inauguration Jan 20th.

President-elect Donald Trump has received enough electoral votes to officially clinch the presidency, a major milestone that he reached when Texas’ electors awarded him the state’s 40 electoral votes at their meeting Tuesday in Austin.

While Trump won the election on November 5, his victory was formalized Tuesday as presidential electors gathered across the country as part of the constitutional process to officially elect a President known as the Electoral College.

More on the process: It takes 270 of the 538 electoral votes to be elected President. Trump won 312 in November’s election to Vice President Kamala Harris’ 226. So far, every elector has voted for the candidate they were elected to represent.

Next, each state’s votes will be sent to Congress. Lawmakers will meet in joint session on January 6 to formally tally the electoral votes and officially declare Trump and Ohio Sen. JD Vance the next president and vice president. Trump and Vance will take office at noon on January 20, 2025.
