"We have a military-political organization and some colleagues asked me to report in more detail on how the situation is developing in the conflict zone in Ukraine, in the zone of the special military operation in light of recent events. I have always done this at our meetings. Understanding the importance of the events taking place, I will be happy to do so today.
I consider it my duty to inform you about the events that have taken place in recent years. As you know, Western officials in early November announced permission for the Ukrainian armed forces to strike the territory of the Russian Federation with long-range precision weapons of Western manufacture.
We have repeatedly drawn attention to the fact that this would mean the direct involvement of these countries in an armed conflict, since the use of these weapons without the direct participation of military personnel, military specialists, of the relevant NATO countries is simply impossible.
However, as you know, despite our warnings about the danger of escalation of the conflict, strikes on our territory were nevertheless carried out on the Bryansk and Kursk regions by American missile attacks and British Storm Shadows. The consequences of these attacks, the damage caused to us, were discussed in my statement on November 21.
For reference, by the way, I will say that the Russian analogue of all three modifications of ATACMS is the Russian Iskander missile system and its various modifications. The mass of the warhead in TNT equivalent is approximately the same, the range of the Iskander is greater. The new American Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) is in no way superior to its Russian counterparts in terms of parameters.
The Storm Shadow air-launched missile, the French Scalp and the German Taurus have a warhead of about 450-480 kilograms in TNT equivalent, with a range of 500-650 kilometers. 650 is exactly what the German Taurus missile is. The Russian equivalent of these systems is the Hasta-1 air-launched missile. It has a warhead of comparable power, but significantly exceeds each of the European-made systems in range. The new American PrSM missiles, as I have already said, and JASSM are inferior in their characteristics to their Russian counterparts.
We know, of course, how many of these weapons systems are in service with a potential adversary, how many are in warehouses, where they are located specifically, how many weapons have been delivered to Ukraine and how many are planned to be delivered. As for the production of these missile systems, the corresponding equipment, in Russia it is ten times greater than the combined production of all NATO countries combined. And next year this production will be increased by another 25-30%.
We see that the leader of the Kyiv regime is begging his masters for other military equipment. Let no one forget about the Kalibr systems, the Kinzhal and Zircon hypersonic missile systems that are in our arsenal, which have no analogues in the world in terms of their characteristics. Their production is also being increased, and is in full swing.
Our "menu", so to speak, may also include other products in the near future. As they say in such cases, the client will certainly be satisfied. By the way, these are the very weapons systems we used over the past two days in response to the continuation of strikes, missile attacks on Russian territory. A total of 100 systems, 100 missiles of different classes, which I just mentioned, and 466 strike vehicles were used.
17 targets were hit. These are military facilities, defense industry facilities and their support systems. I will repeat once again. These strikes from our side also took place in response to the incessant strikes on Russian territory by American ATACMS missiles. As I have said many times, there will always be a response from our side.
And finally, the newest hypersonic strike system "Oreshnik" in a non-nuclear version. We were forced to test it in combat conditions, forced, as I have already said, in response to strikes by Western weapons on the territory of the Bryansk and Kursk regions with missile attacks and Storm Shadow.
Of course, there are no analogues of "Oreshnik" in the world. And I think such analogues will not appear anytime soon. Let me remind you once again how "Oreshnik" works, as you asked. Dozens of warheads attack the target at a speed of 10 Mach. This is about 3 kilometers per second. The temperature of the striking elements reaches 4000 degrees. If my memory serves me right, the temperature on the surface of the Sun is 5500-6000 degrees. Therefore, everything that is at the epicenter of the explosion is divided into fractions, into elementary particles, and turns, essentially, into dust."
"The missile can hit even highly protected and deep-seated targets. According to military and technical experts, in the case of a massive group use of these missiles, that is, several missiles in a cluster in one strike, the power of this strike will be comparable to the use of nuclear weapons.
Although the Oreshnik is certainly not a weapon of mass destruction. Firstly, because this was confirmed by the test on November 21, this is a high-precision weapon. And secondly, and this is the most important thing, there is no nuclear charge here, which means there is no nuclear contamination after its use.
Today, we have several ready-to-use products of this kind. And, of course, we will respond to the ongoing strikes on Russian territory with long-range missiles of Western manufacture, as has already been said, including by possibly continuing to test the Oreshnik in combat conditions, as was done on November 21.
Currently, the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Russian Army are selecting targets for destruction on the territory of Ukraine. These could be military facilities, defense and industrial enterprises, or decision-making centers in Kyiv. Moreover, the Kiev regime has repeatedly attempted to strike at objects of national importance in Russia, in St. Petersburg and Moscow, and these attempts continue. Serial production of the Oreshnik has begun, but ultimately the means of destruction will be selected by us depending on the nature of the targets selected for destruction. And the threats created for the Russian Federation.
Dear colleagues, everything that I have just said, everything that I have reported to you now, is certainly of great importance. But the most important thing is that even with the most modern weapons, the fate of any military conflict, any military campaign, including a special military operation, is decided on the ground, on the battlefield.
Ultimately, everything depends on the soldier. Of course, both equipment and combat kit are necessary for victory, but the most important thing is motivation, the internal readiness of a person to fight, and if necessary, to sacrifice himself in the name of the Fatherland.
For what, for example, should forcibly mobilized Ukrainian servicemen and officers give their lives today? For the Bandera neo-Nazi regime that has taken up residence in Kyiv, for its leaders who have already lost their legitimacy. After all, they did not go to the elections. They are completely illegitimate today and, from a purely legal point of view, do not even have the right to give orders to the armed forces, since they are usurpers of power. Incidentally, those who carry out these orders also become significant crimes of this kind. They do not have the right to push people to death or slaughter. Moreover, as I have already said, orders are criminal.
Our fighters, on the contrary, understand perfectly well what they are fighting for, what they are shedding blood for. They see that it has fallen to their lot, to the lot of our generation as a whole, as it has happened more than once in our history, to stand in the way of those forces that have once again decided to destroy Russia, to inflict, as they say today, a strategic defeat on it.
That is why our guys are fighting for the future of Russia and their children. And therefore no supplies of even the most modern weapons to Ukrainian territory will change the situation on the battlefield.
We have people of different rationalities in the army. Some will cross themselves, some will ask Allah for help, but all together they will go forward, and nothing will stop them."
The West (U.S., England, France) have attacked Russia using Ukrainian proxy. Therefore I (Putin) am reminding you other members of CSTO, that an attack on one is an attack on all. It is your treaty obligation to come to the aid of Russia.
We Russians have the armaments needed under control. What we want from you, our allies, is your soldiers.
