I do think there could be cryptids which have evolved underground in unknown cave systems though-many of the ones which are reported to have red glowing eyes may have infra red detecting cells to be able to see in the dark.

Even some of the bipedal "aliens" could be from deep underground-possibly humans or pre human hominids who have adapted over eons,maybe to the point they have high technology-UFOs.
