An idea for the border issue

we have a huge influx of people, most of whom are claiming to be fleeing from nations that they are unsafe to live in. The large majority of them don't speak English. And they have no ties to this country, other than we are giving them free stuff.

Well, where do we deport them to? Venezuela doesn't want them back. (likely due to many of them being released from prison and gang members). We have a situation in Ukraine where many young men have been killed in the war. The future for that country looks bleak if they don't find a way to rebuild their population. Seeing where this is going?

Send the deported to Ukraine. They can assist in rebuilding the country, and rebuild their population. As they can't speak English, not speaking Russian/Ukraine won't really be anymore of a hinder than being here. So help them, and help us.

What would the down side of that be?

Enforce E-Verify, punish employers who knowingly hire illegals. Focus on temporary VISAs for seasonal workers, the ones working often want to go back to families after the season.

Then, move as much Chinese manufacturing as possible to Mexico. We’d save on logistics, be less vulnerable to shipping problems, and create opportunities that Spanish speakers can take advantage of in another country.

Crack down on asylum claims, no economic asylum, if they traveled through another country to get here, reject it, they can claim asylum there.

Russia would fit their situation better.
The illegals are invaders.
They would be quite comfortable fighting for Russia, who are in fact invaders themselves.

so remain in Mexico, and make entering the country an undesirable activity.....where have I heard ideas like that before?

Trump will likely find a way for peace to be ushered in before we send them. So with that being the only hurdle, it's great to see your approval to this as well. We are making progress here. With progressives. Whodathunkit.

Trumps clearly better on immigration.

But Mexicans haven’t come in droves since the 90s. Mainly other South American countries.

We can’t necessarily force Mexico to take them, but moving more manufacturing there would help them and us. Even if they didn’t employ a lot of immigrants, that supply chain would offer more to neighboring countries. Just like when Michigan was the heart of the motor industry, neighboring states still made parts or raw materials to ship there.

If the US didn't have wide open borders Mexico wouldn't be allowing these criminals into their country. They're just gathering all the trash in South America and dumping it on the growing US trash pile.

* Not speaking to the 1% who are genuinely seeking aslyum, even tho they're breaking the law to do so.

Why does nobody ever consider the elephant in the room? Either change the law legally or enforce it legally....which now means law enforcement has been authorized to use deadly force when deemed necessary.

that's the kicker here. If the process was to make them wait in Mexico for their asylum claim to be adjudicated, the majority of them would realize they aren't getting in, and Mexico doesn't want them either. So Mexico might tighten up it's borders (as you mentioned) and the mass immigration problems that most definitely exists, would sort itself out.

We need to fix the process so those wanting to come here to live and be Americans, can do so without so much red tape, and we can get tax paying citizens, rather than folks living on the system, which is what we have no with no fault of the immigrants. But that's a congress job, and the border has been a nice wedge issue nobody really want to solve, since once it's solved, you can't exploit it anymore.

Build a big fuching wall, as advertise, then man it and patrol it properly. You’ve got a giant illegal workforce lying about sucking up your dollars. Get them to build it from the Mexico side as it goes up and then refuse to let them back in.

We need to pass laws that state if you are not a american citizen OR legally visiting you HAVE no protection in our country.
That will stop alot of crap cold.
