I saw this on TCM this morning and thought that some here might find it intriguing as well.

It is the story of a man who becomes bedazzled with the Hollywood glitz and falls prey to the desire to become like the stars he sees on the screen.
It was made in 1928, several years before ''talkies'' came into vogue and expresses quite jerkily the mesmerizing effect that some had already come to recognize in the pop culture of cinema.

Cinema had only become a staple of popular culture fifteen years before this short movie yet it had already become recognized by some critics for it's dehumanizing effects on the general population. Many movies over the ensuing years have explored this concept but I think that this short film sums it up pretty well.

The filming itself was an early experiment in avant guard art style that was popular in numerous fields of artistic expression.

What a connection with ole Gene Pittney. That Nylon jacket cover fits the style of the film well, thanks.
