So I'm looking into buying a new water filtering system as the one I'm using now (Brita with Elite filters) doesn't filter fluoride.

I found this site:
Truthaboutfluoride.com

And they mention this filter:

Clearlyfiltered

But off course, the truthaboutfluoride site could be owned by clearlyfiltered for all I know (call me cynacal).

So which filtering system would you recommend?

One of the biggest drawbacks of reverse osmosis water is the removal of beneficial minerals, and salts, it also tends to decrease PH levels. Drinking water with a higher pH level can help with digestive issues.

Does your water provider add fluoride to your water? I work for a large water company and some areas add fluoride to the water supply and some don’t.

I check PH and chlorine levels multiple times daily and make sure they’re within range. Filters remove the chlorine , we add chlorine to kill any bacteria , viruses and microorganisms.

If your in NJ area here’s some info amwater.com...

Yep

Hands down the best I’ve found.

Tha carbon candle filters last us about 5 years as we use it just for drinking.

The fluoride filters that you add under them don’t last as long but they work and the water tastes great.

We have enough of the carbon filters to last us 30 years which is about all I have left anyway.

kangen water machine. life changing water. Ph balanced and removes fluoride. once you drink kangen water you will never be able to drink regular water again. Been used in Japan for medical purposes for years. I was skeptical when i first heard about it but after a few days of drinking it , i was hooked. Even my teenage son who thought it was a scam, misses his water when he goes on vacation.. lol a reply to: ScarletDarkness

I never researched water filters that much. We have well water, it is clear and tastes great. I tested the PH and it is around six point eight to six point nine range. But have never actually sent it in for testing since it tastes pretty good compared to other well waters and there is no comparison in taste to the crappy city water in the two towns I live near....where carts are full of bottles of water in the stores. Lots of people buy those bottled water jugs that go on top of a dispenser...they are spring water and they sell those at some big stores...I think they are like five gallons....don't have the clue of what the price is on those.

I don't care at all for the taste of those twelve to sixteen ounce bottles of water, they taste like plastic.

Yes, Reverse osmosis.
You never know when the water treatment
plant will have a Accident!

just buy the parts you need to save money.
the main unit conectors lots of tubeing.
and some kind of connector to link it to the water supply.
and a back presure fiting. 1 micron size fillter.

You Dont need a pump! I got one and Never use it.
it is slow to fill the container.
you just put some big bottls in the sink or shower.
then go on the internet and look up ATS.

I get a new fillter ever 3 years.
when you swop the fillter Clean every thing with disinfectant!
so no bacteria can grow in it.

you can look on youtube to find out how to fit it.

Make your own Water Distiller .

Distilled Water is the purest Water you're ever going to get .

Do it yourself Distilled water

Water Filters are half measures at best . The ' Zero Water ' Filters are pretty good if you insist on one .

I have been and am still a big fan of Berkey Water Filters. I have used these for decades.

It really depends upon your usage and need. If we are talking about portable, hiking, possibly emergency water filtering, I prefer the Katadyn Hiker Pro.

If you are talking about a transportable, but mostly stationary water filtering systems that doesn't require power, Berkey Water Systems are the best imo, and have been so for more than 100 years.

Berkey has several different filters. Most are gravity fed, meaning that you have to dump the water source into it. If you are talking about muddy water, it might be best to pre-filter that water. Ceramic Berkey filters will filter down below the virus level, and even filter out metals. My Bride and me have used these systems for more than three decades. Affordable, nesting and transportable, really good quality.

If you are talking about filtering seawater, I think you're stuck with R/O, or if you're need is a bid slower a solar still might be just the ticket for your need.

Happy filtering!!
