As far as I know....only federal employees at the wage grades have a union.
This was a union endorsement....not a government agency

Has this ever happened before? I’ve never heard of the irs or any government agency endorsing a candidate. Seems crooked on the surface.
It is not the agency endorsing Harris,
It is the Labor Union that represents IRS agents.
Most Federal and State employees are represented by unions (as are many City and County employees) such as the SEIU.

Yes, we understand that. They endorsed Harris because they want a big IRS as Joe provided, not reduction. So, which one do you want? Big IRS or reduction in Government overall. About 88,000 members between the IRS and Treasury.

How is this not a clear violation of The Hatch Act?

DEMOCRATS - Are you enthused over paying at least $3,200 more in Federal Income Taxes next year, after President Kamala Harris follows through on her long-standing promise to let the "2018 Trump Tax Cuts" expire?
DEMOCRATS - Are you determined to vote for Kamala Devi Harris, even though her platform states $5 Trillion in NEW taxes will have to be generated, in order to pay for her hand-outs to certain groups?
If you are enthusiastic about Kamala Harris, even though she will transfer more of your hard earned money to the Federal Government every time you get paid, the Internal Revenue Service Thanks You!
More at: www.atr.org...
The IRS agent union today endorsed Kamala Harris for President.
“She supports the issues that matter most to our members,” said the IRS agent union president.
As Vice President, Harris cast the deciding vote to supersize the IRS, breaking the 50-50 Senate tie on the costly “Inflation Reduction Act” legislation.
And the Harris-proposed tax increases will kill jobs in the private sector but create jobs for IRS agents.
Agents certainly appreciate her call to make the IRS even larger and more powerful if she wins the presidency.
Agents will be hired and deployed to implement the $5 trillion of tax increases Harris wishes to impose over the next decade.
She has proposed personal and small business income tax increases, a capital gains tax increase, a corporate tax rate increase, a Death Tax increase, a carbon tax, and several other new, or higher taxes!
Democrats who thought a President Kamala Harris was NOT going to raise their taxes, can now see from this IRS ENDORSEMENT OF KAMALA, that she is indeed going to raise taxes, increase the number of IRS Agents, and better prepare them to use the large number of rifles/handguns and bullets Biden-Harris-Pelosi provided the agency in 2022.
In Summary: A vote for Harris-Walz is a vote for a large increase in your Federal Taxes. GUARANTEED..😟
Instead, VOTE TRUMP, and watch your SPENDABLE INCOME INCREASE! 🥳

it maybe some times but not this time. in the climate that is prevalent with all things voting, for the agency to come out and say something that is in direct violation of federal law and in public no less to much hell would be raised.
besides your source says the,
The IRS agent union today endorsed Kamala Harris for President.
and i'm sure not every one of irs employees are in the union.
