For that matter, what is the current state of face recognition technology. If there are a thousand seven elevens in the LA area they might have a program that would identify the face of everybody who comes into a store, city wide. If the city wide program recognizes a face from a grab, a call could go to the clerk for a pepper spray and a call to the cops to come and gettum.Or would that be too ''big brother''

Plenty of cameras, plenty of faces. Plenty of yearbook photos, plenty of face recognition.

How about putting up a half dozen pillories outside of these small corner stores. If a kid gets caught and is charged and found guilty, put the kid and one parent in the pillories for one day, morning til night. Have a stinky porta potty right next to them for one or two bathroom breaks per visit.

with what money? most American local and county governments barely fund infrastructure as it is because not enough tax revenue and so much waste and corruption that the governments barely function, America is #ed because lazy ass government that refuses to pay for anything we actually need.

Maybe government can't pay but what about corporations. In this case it's their profits that are getting ripped. Let them install equipment that can then provide evidence to local authorities. Let them put up their own pillories. 'Cheap that way.

How about they start enforcing the law and start holding them accountable? We’ve got so many Democrat and liberal judges, DA’s and prosecutors that do absolutely nothing to hold these criminals accountable, its rather disgusting some of these people are out on the streets in a matter of hours and not for just petty crimes. Our justice departments are the ones creating a majority of the problems and have failed the American people.

This is an epiphany moment here. A couple lefties are starting to see the results of their voting. It hasn't hit them quite yet, but it will.

The feel good way of governing just isn't sustainable. Law breakers need to be punished, and laws need to be enforced. If they aren't, you get what we have here. People who don't fear repercussions to their actions because there are none. Don't like it? STOP voting liberal DA's in who do not prosecute crimes unless they are political. This is 100% caused by that one action.

Flash robs have become increasingly common since the 1990's.

Yet another manifestation of the deeper malaise that affects our countries.

when kids see adults, particularly politicians, judges, police, etc engage in and justify criminal behavior for personal self interests this is what you get.

What makes you sure that's the reason? Howbout the other 99.9% that don't do these things and also see the same politicians, judges, police, etc engage in and justify criminal behavior for personal self interests? 🐱

Maybe put one teacher and one school board member in there too? They are just as responsible aren't they? 😊

And too, maybe some screen writers that write childrens tv show scripts. 😃

I think the technology is making this happen.
I don't doubt punks in the 60s and 70s would have done this had they been networking.

Stand by the door with two large cans of bear spray and then it is time to get busy.

Even though you’re probably right on the voting, since I live in LA and know the mindset of practically everyone it seems, we really don’t know if they’re truly being voted in or they’re being ‘voted’ in.
