Just in case we didn't have enough to worry about yet, and just in case the food prices haven't been raised enough!
Just in time for 'the holidays'

All planned , off course, by TPTB to keep us on our toes and raise food prices astronomically

Wonder how much the Dems will be kissing union cheeks to stop this strike one month before the election?
Voters will remember grocery prices in the voting booth

I'm hoping it's just smoke and whistles, but it may also be a test-run , to see our reactions to this news, or lack of .
Then again, the 1% are all psychopaths, this is just entertainment to them, a game for their amusement.
Their food supply(totally separate) is off course safe.

Does anyone have any meaningful insights into this?

According to a family member of mine, it has nothing to do with food supply , and has happened before.
Took 3 months then , but would only affect online shopping , which I don't care about .

Clearly these dock unions have too much power though still all the same.

Biden says he's staying out of this one. (Probably too far gone mentally, at this point.)

I live in Alaska... this is going to be GREAT!

Feckers,

In fact, according to the union's own material, the average dockworker makes $147,000 in annual salary and pulls in $35,000 a year in employer-paid health care benefits. Pensions pay $80,000 a year.

investors daily editorial

I would give a kidney for that kind of benefits package, and people wonder why there is growing hate towards unions.

ETA: guess the west coast ports reached an agreement.

DOCKWORKERS ARE NOW ON STRIKE...

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Dockworkers at ports from Maine to Texas began walking picket lines early Tuesday in a strike over wages and automation that could reignite inflation and cause shortages of goods if it goes on more than a few weeks.

The contract between the ports and about 45,000 members of the International Longshoremen’s Association expired at midnight, and even though progress was reported in talks on Monday, the workers went on strike. The strike affecting 36 ports is the first by the union since 1977.

i don't think it will work real well in fl, it's a right to work and work at will state. union workers can be fired and replaced by non union workers and won't have to be rehired after the strike unless a opening comes up. there are 10 big ports in fl, on both east and gulf coasts.

now a good Conspiracy Theorist would say that's why the hurricane hit where half are in the gulf.

I find it curious they still went on strike after the wake of the damage of Helene? Instead of being concerned about those hurt by the storm? Maybe they could walk off the job to go help with storm cleanup?

I get that workers shouldn’t be indentured servants to society. But society shouldn’t be indentured servants to a union. Works both ways.
