I think i have heard about the stories of a massive shark near Australia and that area. It's nicnamed "lord of the deep". Also do you think few people know about it because most that encounter it dont live to tell the tale.

I was searching the web and the only things I am finding reference to as "Lord of the Deep" is stories about the Kraken. The Polynesians did however have a giant shark god that they worshipped and I wouldn't be surprised if the Maori people of New Zealand have a similiar myth too. If you find anything, let me know. I can relate to you a lot about trying to find any possible information of the Megalodon. I mean think of Mariana Trench and the vents that give off heat that are down there. I personally believe that a Megalodon could be thriving down there without us even knowing it.
