Wondering if anyone has installed this OS, and if so, how it has worked for them.

I am using Windows as my OS and am thoroughly tired with Microsoft and its "vision" for its user community. No desire to upgrade to another Windows version.

Cheers

It seems to just be an Ubuntu-based Linux distro that is configured to look like Windows. If you'd like to move away from Windows, check out Linux Mint Cinnamon Edition. Mint is very reliable and is known as a "just works" OS. The Cinnamon desktop environment is very straightforward and easy to navigate for people completely new to Linux.

It's actually not too bad. Microsoft is fixing bugs/adding new ones so your mileage may vary. I think what is more of an issue is the software that you may install that may create issues. But that's the nature of the beast.

The best Linux distro for Windows users who are new to Linux is Zorin OS. It is Ubuntu-based.

I have been testing it for several months as a potential replacement for my mother. She has Chromebook which needs replacing. She prefers Ubuntu to Chrome OS which I put on her previous laptop. It is fast and reliable for general usage and also has a polished look. I have not tested it with gaming. It can be used on older computers as well.

Linux Mint uses the Cinnamon desktop which is designed to look and feel like Windows 7.

Ubuntu uses the Gnome Desktop which is my favourite as its simpler without the clutter but takes a bit of getting used to for a new user.

Zorin OS provides desktops that mimic Windows 7, Windows 11, Mac OS, Ubuntu (Gnome) and Chrome OS.

If you don't like windows there is a myriad of Linux flavors our there. After trying a few, I stayed with Ubuntu MATE. Its very clean and updated regularly by their support team. However, Windows does have monopoly on some games. So I have to multi-boot back into Windows 10 now and then to play Flight Simulator etc.

You really need look at the applications you prefer and determine if there is a Linux alternative that meets those requirements. There is no point going to Linux if your preference is to use MS Office. Yet there are alternatives like OnlyOffice for Linux that is compatible with MS Office formats.

Libre office is good enough for my needs. But I do have some Windows apps. Any Linux I choose will have to run WINE.

Cheers
