I think what's happening is that people are quoting search engine AI, like BING's "Co-Pilot". Now days, you do a search, and the first few results are AI answers. You really have to scroll down to find real, non-artificial-intelligence articles and papers.

If I'm just looking for quick explaination, I'll use that AI citation. Doesn't mean I'm a BOT, though.

I'm not concerned about bots....however "closed to new members" this seems odd!!!

Is this some kind of strategy to ferret out the owners? Apparently someone is messing with the protocols.

I have, also, recently been seeing some threads started with long posts that read like someone inputted some parameters into an AI program and then used the result as an OP to a thread.

I believe so.
I have heard one member say he could not, that it booted him out....but I do not know how he tried to reset.

AFAIK, there are two methods:
1. on the account page ----although some members do NOT have that option due to a very old glitch

I have not tried either method.

Sleeper bot cells, put in place, only to be activated during the ATS Apocalypse!

And members should do what they have always done when they see a post that runs afoul of the T&C.

Alert the mods.

Do not discuss the member/post/thread in public.
Since none of us are new members, we should all be aware of how to alert a post.

We should be well versed by now. Yet we live on dead end street with hardly any neighbours. I can accept the anonymous destruction but I struggle at accepting reasonless crimes.

Street credit and snitches get stitches comes to mind. We don't thrive like that... As if bots are the largest of the problems.

not gonna happen ownership apparently has no interest in the site and are not upgrading nor maintaining it. if it wasn't for a couple of mods and a friend of their we wouldn't be here as it is.

Since when has ATS been closed to new members?

Yes. On or around June 1-2 of this year, the auto email stopped working. We don't know how or why. Djarums and I can no longer reset passwords/emails. And the auto email no longer goes out to new members so they can finalize their accounts and post.

Just seen the above reply, that is very fishy, someone does have access to the sites database with admin abilities. Perhaps it was done to prevent the spammer posts, but it is a cumbersome solution if so. Very fishy indeed.

Available answers have been provided. New info will be provided if/when available.
