Here's a little comparison of insulin prices worldwide:

Cost of Insulin by Country 2024

... and in New Zealand, insulin is fully funded by the government, so patients get it for free. I'm fairly sure the same is true in many other countries.

Medicine of all types is a gouge-fest in the USA.

Yeah People here wonder why Biden and Democrats didn't cut Insulin down to zero$ 😬

He didn't cut it down to zero because that would be Communism, and everyone here on ATS knows that Communism is evil..

Well many low income seniors and many Medicaid patients already get many medications at $0.00. So what was your knee jerky micromanaged eye blinky point again? 😃

My point is that all those medications that needy people get are not free. They had to be invented by other people, produced by other people, transported by other people, administered by other people, etc., etc. They have an earned economic value that some other people somewhere in society had to contribute in order for the needy people to get them for free. That's collectively redistributing wealth by taking from people according to their means and giving it to people according to their needs. Communism 101.

A lot of people here on ATS seem to be allergic in parts per million to any example of the government collectively helping needy people in society because that's the slippery slope that leads to Communism. And I've seen many people here on ATS equate Communism to evil. I'm just pointing out that it's not possible to systematically help society's have-nots without some redistribution of wealth.

So I'm just asking, is it OK to have a little Communism/Socialism creeping in around the edges if it's the difference between your less-well-off parents/grandparents/neighbors dying or living for want of a simple medication?

But that wasn't what you said in the first original post. This 2nd post came AFTER you were challenged about your deflection. 😃😀

There's a distinct difference between the desire to help people and Communism. When the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock and helped each other get through those initial extremely hard times, was that Communism? Of course not - it hadn't been invented yet. And when my neighborhood/church/community/county helps people out, it's not Communism, either. It's that spirit of helping each other out that's been a human trait since there were humans.

But you people only claim it's Communism when you want to try and trip up Conservatives. Why is that?

U.S. CITIZENS who have paid taxes, or are disabled, or are children, deserve help from THEIR GOVERNMENT when they need it. You won't find many Americans against that formula.

Look in the mirror. JOE BIDEN HATES the person you see...

The Trump Drug Rebate Rule Would Have Saved Seniors Billions.

“So, the patients are going to be now getting the benefit, instead of these very wealthy individuals,” Trump said at the time.

“Today’s action ends this injustice and requires that these discounts go directly to the people. These are the people that need it.”

Biden Repealed It and Gave Billions to China EVs.

Joe Biden = A Selfish, Mean-Spirited, Corrupt, Immoral, Azzhole. And those are his best attributes.

Actually if you read Trump's order, linked only about 12 posts back, only about 1 in 11 Americans use FQHCs,In turn, only a fraction of those patients use insulin, and only a portion of those fall below the income threshold to qualify for the proposed discount.

So he was covering a very narrow group of people, which has since been expanded. So yes, he started covering a few people.

Who hates the person you see? The one narrowly tailoring the coverage to very few or one who greatly expanded the coverage?

I never understand when things are linked, as the original EO and other links, which are all so readily available, that you still present erroneous claims. That's either willful ignorance or purposeful deception.

During last night's debate, Joe Biden tried once again to say he is the one who lowered the price of insulin.

The TRUTH is that Biden and Trump lowered the price of Insulin for individuals on certain medical plans.

President Biden also says he ended cancer, so he gets the nod of acknowledgement for that accomplishment.

Before Joe Biden and his Democrat friends could cheat him into the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump was able implement a program that kept Insulin costs capped at $35 for Seniors (and others) on Medicare.

May 26, 2020: Today, under President Trump’s leadership, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that over 1,750 standalone Medicare Part D prescription drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans with prescription drug coverage, have applied to offer lower insulin costs through the Part D Senior Savings Model for the 2021 plan year.

Across the nation, participating enhanced Part D prescription drug plans will provide Medicare beneficiaries access to a broad set of insulins at a maximum $35 copay for a month’s supply.

The model follows on the Trump Administration’s previously announced 13.5 percent decline in the average monthly Prescriptions Part-D premium since 2017, to the lowest level in seven years.

Fast Forward to 2024 and we find a desperate President Joe Biden (Only 3 in 10 Americans like him) grasping at anything and everything he thinks will help him be re-elected in November. Panic mode Joe is now taking credit for successful MAGA quality-of-life improvements, delivered by the President Donald Trump administration.

April 21, 2024: WASHINGTON (AP) — Rarely a day goes without President Joe Biden mentioning insulin prices.

He promotes a $35 price cap for the medication for Americans on Medicare — in White House speeches, campaign stops and even at non-health care events around the country.

His reelection team has flooded swing-state airwaves with ads mentioning it, in English and Spanish.
More at: www.usnews.com...

It's painful to visualize America with a President who, on his own or with his cabinet, can't put together enough successes to help him be re-elected by satisfied Americans. But that's Joe Biden is at this point, with less than 5 months to go before ELECTION DAY. (Nov 5th)

I wonder what President Biden will (wrongly) take credit for next?
