You Generation X phone people. I will find a way to go to war with you within limits of righteousness, peace, and the law of Spirit, also of the worldly law, proving that you are dishonest. See, you don't admit to the truth, and you don't show attention to ANYONE, and I will find some way to make everyone aware because they don't know what you are thinking based on the totally vivid displays of body language that speaks out - "I am a brat, a liar who is ignoring you". I speak to people, we do show attention, even if you look down at your phone and you pretend to not show attention - you are a liar and you are trying your hardest to SHOW you are ignoring people, but you are not- you watch for them, and when they come, you ignore them at any circumstance. Your subconscious even knows more than u, of just what you are doing. I will find a way, to let the world know, and to teach the young what is right because you people are ruining any hope for the future of society. All the smart people know what I am saying, all the brats deny it and look down at their phone ALL TIME in public in 2024.

I Love You Creator! I Will Show RESPECT to EVERYONE!

Hey now! I'm Gen X and if someone is talking to me I put my phone down. It's not everyone who does this my kids GenZ don't ignore people with their phone unless the people are jerks but even then my kids would usually say something and then ignore. It's just the parenting issues that's what I attribute this to. It's the parents who fo not make their kid listen and the parent with no follow through. I see it first hand at pick up time every day! Kid wines they don't wanna go home so the parent let's the kid do what they want. The parent then asks the kid to go. The kid runs away. Instead of getting firm they are like..... hey little baby Billy, it's time to go please come down the ramp. Instead of hey we are going home... kid complains. Parent should say we'll we need to go so... are you going to walk to the car or am I going to take you to the car. I'm OK with either.... the kid MUST listen and will either way have to go to the car. In the 1st instance the parent is Negotiating, ( quite poorly), because they are afraid of the kid or looking dumb. But here's the thing they look dumb already. Who care olif the 3 year old is having a tantrum! It's what they do!

This in early childhood and adolescence is the problem. They are not required to do anything to they do not have to listen.

A rant for your rant!

Hey, that is not a phone you would understand any better than this way, it is a prop that doesn't work like you think. It's only there to entertain us and nothing is actually on it. We are mocking you with the silent treatment because it is fun for us. We don't care that you know that, and we find it fun to simply be ourselves, alone without any stimulation, except the indignation you show us while we openly ignore your existence. We don't care, you are not even there, and we will be nice until we aren't because we are always spoiling for a fight.

Gen Z but I dont use my phone as an excuse to ignore people. There is a boomer I work with that does that and a couple Gen X I think do that. Boomer is obvious though because I'll come around the corner to the smoking area at work and she will immediately start looking at her phone even pull it out and start scrolling the minute I say hi and totally ignore me.

I think this is a relic from the 00s when people would feel uncomfortable in a situation, they would pull out their phone to have something to make them look busy so they didn't have to talk or deal with a person who made them uncomfortable. That might be why you notice it with Gen X more. I think they came up with this as a solution because now with the cell phone you can pretend something else is going on so you'll have an excuse to ignore people.

First, why do you want the attention of someone who is "ignoring" you?

Second, if someone is ignoring you at work, and it is work related, you have supervisors and managers for that. Not saying it will help, but those are the people you need to talk to.

Again, if someone is ignoring you, THEY DON'T WANT TO TALK OR ASSOCIATE WITH YOU. Find someone else to talk to.

By the way, sometimes women use the phone as a way of getting away from men who simply can't take no for an answer.

Smart people use smart phones... Or yell at clouds...

I guess a rant on a site that has a mobile phone mode is a good start to make a change...
