I think you drive a pertinent question when it comes to leadership.

Apparently old age brings wisdom? I'd say it's observation personally.

The main question is if they have kids. The second is how were those kids raised. Out of all the investments Investors make I struggle to imagine they'd throw the big one away. Legacy.

It is possible they've been told there's safe places although I highly suspect even the dumbest amongst us would have their doubts about that. If the worst came to worst we're all #ed.

Even if there's actual safe places like say Mars, the moon or deep underground wouldn't you think the people behind destroying the beauty of all future sunrises would deserve everything coming their way?

I suspect it would be coming... Around every corner. Their might be billions of us, some of them we work with. But we only have one planet that actually works.

"Me or nothing" thinking doesn't get an individual far.

How can we be controlled by leaders that have such a short life span left - They create a nuclear war get on their never ending flights or bunkers kill all the young just to die a few years later .

Honestly, I'm not sure why you think this is an unusual situation.

EVERY government has them, and they have for a very long time. Read up on your history; men who get into power are reluctant to give it up, so chieftains, warlords, kings, military dictators, elected officials... heck, the people running departments in your municipality and the people running corporations are, almost exclusively, Not Very Young.

What they do have is knowledge about how the system works, how to change it, who the major players are, and they have a good long-distance view on what happens (example: because of my education and experience, I advised the company I worked for to NOT buy Apple products (go for the cheaper IBM clones because they'd dominate the market...which was obvious if you knew the market) and to NOT buy the WordStar word processing program but instead go with Microsoft Word, since it would be in play much longer.)

The newbies urged "buy Apple" and "salesman said this was the best word processor in the world". They didn't have the experience that I did. Divisions that did not take my recommendations ended up having to re-buy equipment and software and all because they took the advice of people who hadn't been in the field as long as I had.

So there's an up-side to the older folks -- LBJ, for example, could get a lot of things done as president because he knew who owed what favors to whom.

The ideal would be a mix of elders plus younger folks.

Theyre all too old. I can explain this in America at least because people supposedly just vote for the same exact person over and over again for 30 years. Notice I said supposedly. OR nobody runs against the incumbent for 30 years. This is what happens in congress. It is also pretty expensive to run even just to get your name on the ballot. This cuts out a lot of the normal people.

As far as the president goes? People control that from top to bottom and never ever ever will we see like a 38 year old dad who had a pest control business but tired of all the BS and had some good ideas so decided to run. It is just too expensive. We won't ever probably see anyone under 60 in the white house again.

the understanding is that man was so evil God shortened the lifespan.

in Ps 90:10 there is a further reduction to 'threescore and ten, or fourscore if he has the strength.'
