Question for the mods that everyone might like the answer to

As ATS is a rudderless ship, bouncing around the rough seas of the internet, and no leader has emerged as far as we know, who do you all report to? IS there a higher authority, or do you just use the "moderator" and "Super moderator" higherarchy, and take turns being the top dog? Of course it doesn't change anything, but I am curious.

And thanks for the thankless job you do. (now you can no longer call it thankless)

Personally, I never had the feeling that I needed to "report" to anyone, I just needed to do my moderating according to the established rules, specially the Terms and Conditions of Use to which we all agreed to when we joined, and ask for other staff members' opinions on the less than obvious actions to take.

I have come to believe that most moderaters here have integrity and don't need to be looked after, and if the process is really as it's been explained, there likely isn't a reason to have upper management, but with any business, without leadership, there will be problems. Like if a Mod quits or upsets the others and is told to leave, who pics the new mod? And who deals with problems you might have with others or vice versa?

As far as i can tell by the play that happend in the light, yes.... But who knows what happend in the shadows...

Well, being just a moderator I don't know how the new mod process is done, if administrators have the possibility of "upgrading" a member to mod status or if that's just one of those things only an owner has access to.

Those capable to "upgrade" a member are, most likely, able to "downgrade" them, so if there's someone with that possibility now that's not really a problem, as moderators have been demoted (and banned) for their behaviour in the past.

The mods seem good here. Not knowing if the person you are discussing things with could be beneficial, they could be on here under a name nobody knows. So it should promote civility of the people here....if they knew who the owner was, they would probably suck up to that person in responses yet be rude to others.

If I was rich and owned a big corporation, I would not let people know I was the owner, and I would definitely keep the ownership secret, working as a janitor and handyman in the business to see if the employees were civil to me and others. Seeing things from the bottom is a way of seeing the direction of the company. Now if I did find we had some jerks there, I would then inform the top boss to let that person go...one person in the whole factory or business would be the only one who would know who I am. Being a Janitor or handyman, I could see the Manager easily...people would think I was just getting assignments for work or was getting bitched at for dirty bathrooms. People in a company should work together symbiotically, not cut others down to make themselves look superior.....the same goes for a nation. Our country is screwed, lots of people believe they are superior to others even though they aren't. Give someone a degree in something and they believe they are better than others.

And most don't fall for propoganda, that's why they are here. So no worries.

I personally would buy an ATS forum, especially since it is a pleasant and easy business. I have no doubt that many ATS members would buy it.
But, unfortunately, I don’t know who to pay and transactions from Russia do not go through, thank Western sanctions for this. But any sanctions are easily dealt with.
So...))))))
