I hear regular exercise of ones' brain can help stave off dementia, so I'm already getting something pretty cool out of it!

Great short story. Very well thought out, written, and edited. And it kept me reading to see where it was going. You are very talented. I can see this being turned into a video game. There was a time in the past when video games were more like this, wonderful puzzles you had to put together to keep going. These days a lot of them seem to be mindless, and if there are puzzles they are mindless too.
A couple of good video games, one old, and one recent that this reminds me of are:
The Dig
The Stanley Parable
This is just me personally. I believe time is our perception of energy in motion.

The word Time appears in the story 29 times. 28 are visible, one is hidden...can you find it?
I'm stumped. Re/re/re/reading again.
Would you like me to tell you or give you a clue?
