This self-righteous indignation directed at Azov has always amused me. It's mainly coming from the politically correct and over-sensitive woke ideologues. Actually, they don't worship Bandera, hardly ever use red and black flags. Totally under the control of the government, they have been gradually losing their previously nationalistic character. Their brutality is largely a myth too. Apart from torturing a few pro-Russian separatists (which pro-Russian separatists did to Ukrainians too), there aren't many controversies surrounding them.

As I said earlier, it's nothing new to recruit convicts into the army. They make more aggressive soldiers but they are also more difficult to control. So it sometimes backfires.
