Social issues and unrest are perpetrated by the politics of this Country. In any Country for that matter. More so, the Politicians have created an environment that fosters disunity between fellow country men and women.

Who benefits from a Divided America?

In addition to teaching us what to do when evaluating a claim to knowledge, any good baloney detection kit must also teach us what not to do. It helps us recognize the most common and perilous fallacies of logic and rhetoric. Many good examples can be found in religion and politics, because their practitioners are so often obliged to justify two contradictory propositions.

While this articles main focus is science, no one can deny how politicised science has become, under recent politic turmoil, by design for control via fear.

People who are scared, are easily manipulated.
Emotional knee jerk reaction, is what TPTB want.

Not critical thinking through logic and common sense.

Your mentioning of Carl Sagan and critical thinking is a joke.
He denied to the general public for decades that UFOs were alien devices while since his early days in college, he was an avid UFO believer. His "critical thinking" skills had more to do with him not committing professional suicide as he transitioned into a position in astronomy than what he actually believed.

A reading of William Poundstone's biography of Sagan and Shklovskii's and Sagan's early book Intelligent Life in the Universe displays his self-betrayal.

In his years after college his name would've been drug through the mud if he openly talked about little green men. If he had we may never have gotten to listen and watch him as much as we have. I'm ok with him not talking about it as long as he continued to inspire and educate which he did.

This is a hit digressing, but important. Remember Jerry Lewis telethon? Raising $$ for MS.

Raising $$ for cures ..yet...we still have cancer, MS. They raise $$$ never a cure.

We got AIDS, MS, breast cancer etc: still,...why? Because there are no $$ in finding cures...nor finding "aliens".

Cures....means less $$ for the Corporate "machine". Aliens? Need $$$$$$$$ to study that, we'll see. Nonsense. Supreme BS.

Hell...this week...measles are back...and some cases of Polio...we never DID get rid of them. No $$ in cures, but we kiddies were VAX.

Theres $$ in docs, treatments, procedures, meds, tests...rinse n repeat.

This...is REALLY...bs... and critical thinking about man's dependence on things that really never go away.

In many ways...even critical analysis...falls by the wayside.

Good for us, do this, itll help, if we get a group, raise $$$, see specialist. Take this, it'll go away...

I was a Catholic child marched and ordered by nuns, vax'd n slapped. Got outta grade school....found out regular kids were out there.

I have a childhood religious " pocket book" from school I found the other day. The cover shows Jesus on the Cross...and it's titled FATHER POWER.

We were sooooo indoctrinated. Today's society is as well. Subliminal and in-your-face "suggestions" we follow(ed) like lemming over a cliff.

Study...Belief...Reality itself...are all 1 sided. We are indoctrinated into believing bits of trust n positive thinking, ideas and products are for our own good.

"Take this." "You're gonna need a..." "I'm sending you to a specialist"...just in medicine and health alone...we are bombarded by what's supposedly in our best interests. I pose you this:

Docs, their meds, specialists, trial n error treatments. Now why...do we believe in these docs, meds and "consults" what the media says to try?

Political, socially, religiously, morally...we do what we're told...basically believing and living n darkness we treat as "light".

To the critically thinking astute perceptionist...we go forth following the trails.

Nothing...in this world...is in our best interests. WE however...are our own "best interests". But society isn't set up for us to think.

Nope. We're to read, watch, believe in the "Status Qou". We aren't to think, just do.

The UFO point is obvious. BS is what we have. And BS is not just for breakfast anymore.

I agree and people can't seem to realise the bull in the china shop. Keep giving your trillions to find cures for cancer, ms etc. etc. keep giving for years. YET! Along comes Covid and they find a cure in less than 12 months.

Step 2:

Unfortunately many institutions, such as the media and even universities and scientific bodies, skip this step these days.

Then there's this gem, step 9:

Always ask whether the hypothesis can be, at least in principle, falsified. Propositions that are untestable, unfalsifiable are not worth much.

This is another one that has been thrown out the window. Global warming immediately came to mind.

Is it hotter in your city than last year? That's proof of global warming.
Colder? That's also proof of global warming.
More rain? Less rain? Either way, that's proof of global warming.

No matter what data is gathered, they immediately get to work figuring out how they can spin it as proof of their hypothesis. This is why it was rebranded "climate change," because it makes it easier to sell any and all data as proof.

That's the exact opposite of how science is supposed to be done.

A lot of politicians are not smart enough to comprehend what they are doing to our country with all the division they are promoting. Maybe they should be required to take special training on how to bring the people in the country together for the common good before they are allowed to take their position in government.

Weeeeelllllll now, that's a great idea but they most likely wouldn't be able to agree on the actual special training!



On topic, a divided America or any country for that matter, creates opportunities to gain power for certain individual(s) and entities. And power creates opportunities for prosperity. That's the age old purpose of division.

Yeah! he did exactly what he was paid to do as a posterboy for the govenment's approach to the situation. And,evidently, you bought right into it.

Actually, he was "anti-UFO," co-wrote at least one book to that end. He was also a minor member of the official US government anti-UFO tomb on that exact topic.

In Feb. of 1973, I attended a conference on UFOs in Chicago where he spoke among others with Prof. Allen Hynek. Sagan's standard statement was to say, "Yes, they are out there, but they can't get here." He gave us the same Einsteinian swill continually over the decades. He is on record of believing that there was life on Mars, however. He even wanted and tried to get lights on the Viking Explorers to capture nighttime images of Martian life! He never, never mentioned UFO abductions in any serious manner. For such, he was a government plant to keep the lid on the then secrets of our being visited and subjected to cattle mutilations and even human abductions. He never lowered himself to speak on the reality of such frightening details. No. Sagan, despite being the government's golden boy on scientific matters, he was a traitor to the truth and his Science as has been many others over the decades as they kept this colossal secret from the public. The public loved him, but other decent scientists, not so much.

Unfortunately between climate change, the "trans" movement, and covid, we discovered there's a freaking ton of scientists that will just shut up and color to keep their job.

They're like any other group of people. Some have integrity, some don't.

Here's proof: forced grade school VAX in the 50's n '60's.

Got rid of Polio, measles, chicken pox, mumps to scarlet fever and rubella..gone pretty much.

Polio and Measles back again. So what.does that say for Covid coming back in 50 yrs?

This is what it's about. I got tons of dead relatives from Cancer. No cures. Slow down, remittance ..but no cures.

$$$$ in continuing causes and treatment is how you make and keep making...profit.

CURES.....don't make $$$ on a continuing basis.

Correction - there is no cure.

Just a vaccine that may help lessen the duration of the symptoms.
