Most people know Black Sabbath were called Earth before the film Black Sabbath inspired their name change but how many have heard any music by "Earth" ?

As a massive Sabbath I hadn't until now but thanks to youtube I have now , 2 demo tracks and 1 live track from the Blues Rock band Earth were uploaded a couple of weeks ago so for anyone interested here's ....
01. When I Came Down
02. Early One Morning (live)
03. The Rebel

Enjoy.

They seem to have always had that heavy dark rhythmic sound
going on. Ozzy sounds so young. I always wonder if they only went
with the long hair because that was the fad, or were they just to
busy making music to get a haircut? LOL Either way Black Sabbath
was phenomenal. I saw em like five times in the 70s and 80s.
Including once with Dio.

Thanks for a very cool thread.

I love Sabbath. Here's a cool live track from when they were approaching their final days as a band. They were burning out.
I had not heard this till fairly recently.

Tony Iommi is one of the most underrated metal guitarists there are.

Here they are performing Blue Suede Shoes in 1970.

Damn, that sounds like Led Zeppelin playing something written by Pink Floyd.
Good stuff.

Funny how giving something a naughty name can make it more popular. Oppositional defiance disorder is not a new thing.

I watched 'Earth' play in the late 60's, they were standing in for Climax Chicago Blues Band, who we used to hang with.

Climax had to skip their usual gig for some reason and Earth was the replacement band. I guess we were biased because I didn't really get the same vibe from Earth, but then again even though I didn't leave the gig with my ears bleeding. They certainly weren't in the same league as Climax in that genre in those days.
