CALGARY – A website critical of police Chief Jack Beaton and his senior managers has been shut down, after the chief used a rare legal tactic to seize a computer from a private home.
Beaton obtained a civil court order earlier this month to enter the home of a civilian police employee and seize the computer.
And a sweeping gag order was issued at the same time that prevents anyone from talking about the case or reading documents related to it, which have been sealed. CBC and other city media are fighting that order.
Are police chiefs in Canada elected or appointed?

You have to wonder what was going through this guy's head. Did he really think that there wouldn't be political backlash from this?

Well after doing some research I found that the domain was registered through a registrar in either China or Pakistan, and the website was apparently being hosted somewhere in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Here is a copy of the webiste as it appeared in october of 2004
www.standfirm.biz..." target="_blank" class="postlink">Link
Someone should make a copy of this site to before it "disappears" as well.
