Just for reference to those that won't have seen one of those.

My grandpa had one in the 70s, right up until early 80s, an ancient old thing, that ended up with a hole in the floor you could see the road, and we called it the Flintstone mobile.

ffs flashbacks there too before i could nearly talk(I can taste beef crisps). LoL

Told you Andy we had a lot in common
we also had a Simca estate and a Lada sitting there begging to be used , the Hillman we had would have been worth a fortune now as it was the stiletto model and was rally prepared and bloody lethal in the wet , I shudder at how bloody stupid I was back then

Wow. A Hillman Imp?

Not many left!

I really wish we had looked after some of those vehicles better seeing what they are fetching now but by the time we got our hands on them they were nearly dead or ready for the scrap heap

I don't doubt it mate.

I liked the MK1 Escorts and Ford Cortina.

That little fellow, mobile homes are obviously more his speed.

Now we know where Tommy got the caravan from in Snatch I suppose, so there is that

I bet once they managed to find cuffs to fit the little fellow the arresting officers were in stitches.

Still through, aye he could have killed people and caused all sorts on the road.

Probably drives better than Alain Prost or in his language Franklin Clinton.

LoL

It sounds like fun and games mate.

But what happens when he decides to change lanes going full pelt, possibly loses control of the vehicle, plasters it all over the road and into other traffic, and ends up causing a massive pile-up?

Now why'd you have to go and do that?

Injecting sanity and sense into this thread.

A pox on your house, I say!

But seriously, you're absolutely right. Glad there wasn't any further incidents other than grand theft caravan by a primary schooler.

Or a Traveler...

Snap mate.

One of my favorite moves of all time if I'm honest.

Easily in the top 10.

Great movie!

But now it appears that I have to remove myself from this thread as the Brits have taken over and I no longer have any idea what you people are talking about.

America and the UK: Two people separated by a common language.

As long as F1 cars don't start using catalytic converters.

Else he's apt to be off with the lot.

I used to work with a guy when I was shopfitting in England who was convinced I was Irish , even Irish have thought the accent is Irish we have which sounds very similar to county antrim
This dude loved me saying top of the morning to ya ,it never got old with him until one evening I was sitting in the horse shoe pub in Burmingham not knowing the IRA had blown the place up years before I was very very lucky to get out of there after answering my phone that evening with top of the morning to ya .

Traveller I’d imagine, gypsy to those who don’t know. Nothing will happen. Police won’t be able to prove who he is.

I don't think they let you go until you do that in this day of age.

Duty of care and all that jazz.

And he's in the system now.

Social work would need to establish where the little fellow resides.

They will not just turn him lose without someone turning up to claim him.

They are so easy to run rings around especially with the case loads they have All he has to do is say we are away to another campsite and they will wash their hands gleefully.

They get the same deal with jobcentre staff and get extra money for travelling etc , if you know how to play the system like they do

Aye but they are still not going to let an 11-year-old walk away into the sunset without an appropriate adult turning up stonerwilliam, they just don't do that mate, if for no other reason but to cover their own arses......well not in this day of age anyroad.

As to his going on to play the system, I don't doubt that for an instant, if that's where his background lies.

I bet they have every avenue covered on this one ,little old mum or granny turns up saying he will be punished while winking at him , Some people treat this like a badge of pride and a ankle tag is a badge of honour to them as is a jail sentence, I have come across a good few in the tin pale just like that and they were all chasing big money !!

Good luck to them on that score.

At 11 all the same it would be like secure unit/accommodation/home I should imagine at worst.

I know a few people who have been through the care system.

Let's just say its a hit-and-miss experience where many horrible things are possible.
