The millions of Catholics, Anglicans, Muslims, Hindu's Sikhs etc don't seem to have got that message.

Communism and relgion do not sit happy together. In fact communists do their best to ban it. Yet all those religions have freedom to worship in the west without persecution by the state.

While the Bolsheviks demolished churches at the start of the revolution, later on, especially after Stalin's death, the Russian Orthodox Church was tolerated and people enjoyed moderate freedom of worship as long as it didn't interfere with politics. Exactly as it is today. Can the patriarch of Moscow be anything more than the servile ally of Putin?

Christians aren't persecuted in the West. And once again, silly, they weren't persecuted in the communist times, at the very least after Stalin's death. The west is definitely not communist, not in the Marxist - leninist sense, nor in the literal hippy dippy sense of collective egalitarianism.

China and Russia have tried to demoralize everyone into thinking these liberal democratic societies are or could be communist, but nah. Not even China kept up their pursuit of actual socialism, and instead just adopted a form of marxist - leninism.

Hello RT,

I'm going to go against the grain and agree with your post with caveats. The communists most certainly do have a strong foothold within our system. They have strategically placed themselves in key positions throughout our federal and state governments, our education system, our information systems, our communication systems, our infrastructure, military and more. Their tentacles run deep and reach far.

I would argue that the U.S. is already in its second civil war, and has been for decades. Not a traditional war, but 21st century war. It's easy for people to grasp traditional warfare, but not so easy to understand a war that is nearly invisible to the average American. A war raging right now with strategic casualties, while I type this. While we're having our morning coffee, and while we're spending time with our children or going to work.

I would also argue we have been at the brink of collapse before, and we overcame our would be conquerors. This war isn't over yet, and I would further argue that we may look down for the count at the moment, but don't underestimate the American spirit. We have a tendency to get back up and win the fight when it's least expected.

We made a big mistake before and immediately after our first civil war. It may be time to correct that mistake.
